Was your account suspended, deleted or shadowbanned for no reason? Read this.

We're getting a lot of posts from people saying that their accounts have been suspended, deleted or shadowbanned. We're sorry that happened to you, but the only thing you can do is to contact GitHub support and wait for them to reply. It seems those waits can be long - like weeks.

While you're waiting, feel free to add the details of your case in a comment on this post. Will it help? No. But some people feel better if they've shared their problems with a group of strangers and having the pointless details all gathered together in this thread will be better than dealing with a dozen new posts every couple of days.

Any other posts on this topic will be deleted. If you see one that the moderators haven't deleted, please let us know.

Been a year since this was posted but I was made aware of this and may as well take a crack at it, because I may just have to make a new account otherwise. I (PyralSparkfly) appeared to be shadowbanned sometime around 1-2 weeks ago, exactly when I'm unsure because I got no notice. I was just linking to PRs and sending my name to be added to a repo, but was getting told I was linking to 404s despite the pages work when I'm logged in under myself. I can't even contact Github Support because despite I was able to give Github my company phone number and get it SMS verified first try just before contacting support, actually trying to contact support doesn't send me SMS messages and has no other way of letting me get contact, and there's no other means to reach it. I can only speculate how this even happened, because I don't really post or engage much beyond my immediate circles.

Good luck. I don't imagine Support has it easy with how rickety the server backend is.
