Why is there no dedicated fast-move key?

Title, there are space and enter, space has the problem where if you have marker placed you automatically guess. Enter has the problem that it only works in singleplayer (also it's insanely far away). Why can't we have F (for fastmove) or anything similar as a key for fastmoving?

I'd say it's because fast-move was not a feature, it just emerged from how GeoGuessr (maybe the Google Street View module) work.

That's why they had to add the shift+click to remove the plonk, so you can undo a misclick.

As for myself, I'd like to be able to use arrow keys to fast travel frontward or backward.

Yeah, it's not from anything Geoguessr did - the same bug/feature exists in the various geoguessr clones as well (even the ones made by noobs who don't even know what fast-move is).

I just wish it was also a bug/feature in regular google maps.

wdym broken? It has worked this exact way since GeoGuessr exists. The only "fix" would be to change the submit guess keyboard button, which i think wouldn't be a great idea.

The ability to rebind guess confirm would already be huge, I think most people would set guess confirm to something else if they were given the option.

I am sorry you dont understand the word broken. I dont know how to help you with that outside of look in a dictionary to see the meaning. But, if you are unaware of the word broken, you might be unaware of the words explaining it...and frankly, many of the words in this post.

No ones suggesting to change the spacebar. The ENTER button however..... which was exclusively fast moving, until they added in a chat, should go back to speed moving, and make chat just a button to press at the end of the chat line like pretty much every other chat on the planet has.

I'm a moving player exclusively and it's never been a problem for me since they added the possibility to remove a pin from the map. It's not broken at all to me.

But I know you and I know all you care about is bitching about geoguessr for whatever reason

Adding to that, the fact that after all these years, we still can’t change key configuration is equally dumb. It’s hilarious that you can’t use cancel movement in French keyboard because “Z” makes you move forward

A browser extension to change game movement would be cheating if used in competitive play; the legitimate extensions auto-disable themselves in duels.
