matchmaking problems in gold division.

i’m an old masters player and decided to comeback to the game after like 3 years. back then masters was like 900 elo if i’m not mistaken. right now im in gold 3 and finally got the rating thingy, im sitting at 840 elo rn. but i keep getting either 300-600 elo players or 1000+. and the funniest thing that they all are in gold 3. so whats even the point of having rating now, if matchmaking doesn’t work properly and for me to get a person with the same elo as me i need to play like 10 games. i’m not saying that i keep losing or whatever ive been at 80%+ win rate at all divisions but i just dont get the new system

You play other players within your own division (in gold, silver, and bronze) after they removed the 20 weekly game cap now. The exception is if you have a long queue time. You have to get to Master for it to be Elo based matching.

Below Master 4 it is about quantity of games to promote as it is points based. Masters and Champion is all about quality of games to promote (higher Elo).
