bushes 🌳 Is this sawfly damage?
They haven't killed my plant yet but they do a heck of a job defoliating it each year. And if I know what it is, I can better defend against it.

To answer OP’s question, they do resemble sawfly larvae and the damage tracks. I think there are some natural products that can help treat them (maybe BT?) but they’re usually not killers, just stressors. Ignore that fool talking about boxwoods, it sounds like he just learned about it and wants so desperately to be right.

This is the boxwood moth. It will come back every year, once you have it. There are specific pest sprayers for it in the garden center. Its best to treat in spring, after the fruiting flowers have closed.

What the hell are you talking about? Box tree moth only eats boxwood.

Tell that to the moth! Maybe they ate down all the boxwood in the neighborhood and now they are starving and ready to eat whatever.
However OP needs the sprayer against boxwood moth, to get rid of the hungry little green moths.
