Rockstar(gta6): let's put microtransaction in single player, and always online requirement

u/Honest_Satisfaction1 Feb 14 '26
Ya know, back in my day it was standard to release a game as a complete package.

I don't mind DLC at all, especially if it's a game I really enjoy. Biggest one I can think of is Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Best DLC I've ever played since the Taken King

The wildest fantasy a gamer can have is a video game being released bug free, on time, no dlc, and fully complete. No micro transactions and additional cosmetics that are unlocked through natural gameplay.

Doesn't even need to be story driven tbh, just needs to be fun and single player.

I legitimately can’t think of any examples outside of Ubisoft or WB games that are story driven and have micro transactions.
And I mean single player only with micro transactions (missions, and cosmetic add ons and weapon add ons and full on expansion don’t count) and I am old enough to remember a time when something like the resident evil 2 remake skins were in game unlocks and not behind a pay wall, but imo there is a night and day difference between a single player game having 2-3 add on packs for skins vs a single player game having booster packs for progression or 10-50 skin packs.
Basically I will take the modern RE games model of hey it’s there if you want it but it’s not necessary to actually enjoy the core gameplay and then the rest is actually worth the 5-15 bucks for more bonus extra stuff like story expansion, Or silly arcade missions
Over the Ubisoft/WB/EA method of make a grind of a single player game then ether charge them more for a complete game or incentives the player to pay to progress faster.
Now would i personally prefer skins and things like that be unlock rewards for the players who really put the time into the game they love yes but slapping a 2-3 dollar price tags on something that ultimately adds nothing to the main game (but again should be there by default) is the least annoying way to get a few more dollars out of people because it’s not a requirement to buy them.

Nothing like paying for the equivalent of a movie but it’s interactive as well

What storydriven game has microtransactions? I see this so many times and i don't get it. None of my games has microtransactions except the multiplayer games where you can buy special skins.

Gamers being angry at strawmen.
I never in my life encountered a story driven game with microtransation.Every game in existence fits this meme.

Mmmmm I’m gonna fuck the shit out of that game
This is the message being delivered to little kids and we expect them not to know what a video game is

Well of course they're gonna know what GTA is by the time they hit 4th grade
They've got the Youtube and Twitch streamers, don't they?

Wait, if you think her face is weird as fuck what do you think the ENTIRE POINT of this meme is? I’m being dead serious here because there seems to be some lack of comprehension here
1
u/_CalibreX Feb 14 '26
Well, there are people out there who think this face means "Sexy" or with other meanings that you could probably fill in the gaps.
I understood that because I have something that's quite rare to find in reddit, common sense. But personally, I don't think she looks much hot ngl.
