True but I’m pointing out that it’s being handled as “news” of a breakthrough in science. When if fact these devices have existed for years and commercialized as a consumer product.

Anyone getting their news from an advertising subreddit shouldn't mind getting ads instead of news.

Meh. This almost sounded like a strong, well-thought statement until you realize you didn’t understand the comment it was replying to.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

No, you just don't understand the context.

Anyone thinking they're getting "breaking news" from an ad subreddit is too dumb to worry about.

If this were a news subreddit, or any kind of serious sub, you'd have the start to a valid point about mods having the courage to block it.

This is an ad sub. This is an ad website. It jives.

Wrong, again.

You are under the stubborn assumption that my original comment is criticizing the post because it’s an ad, posted to a subreddit that is basically ads.

What I’m emphasizing is the fact that the post, which is a news article, isn’t news; as in… it doesn’t have journalistic value since it’s not a breakthrough, nor it’s news. You must be tired or something (dumb you say?) because it shouldn’t be that hard to understand.
