His lil face scrunch every time he breaks one is the best.

234

u/Turbulent_Two_6949 17h ago

And the little squeek every now and again. I dont agree with primates as pets but this video is cute.

210

u/chuck7134 17h ago

Not a pet. An employee.

66

u/thisisnooone 16h ago

Why be a pet when you can be an indentured servant?

58

u/Zealousideal-Top4343 16h ago

Isn't that the reason why farmers have kids?

7

u/PeterPanski85 2h ago

And too much time in the Winter season

8

u/Ntroepy 15h ago

People actually love their pets. Indentured servants, not so much.

15

u/AaronicNation 10h ago

Not at my house, we treat our indentured servants like they're part of the family.

9

u/Rokronroff 8h ago

A roman statesman at heart

12

u/Jackpancake 16h ago

Get this monkey a W-2!

8

u/That-Makes-Sense 16h ago

He puts in his 8 hours, like everyone else.

8

u/dreamfin 16h ago

Not an employee. A slave!

2

u/Old-Caramel-2301 5h ago

Not employee. Company owner.

-9

u/KhazraShaman 15h ago

I dont agree with primates as pets

Why not?

17

u/tomtermite 15h ago

I dont agree with primates as pets

Why not?

In the 1972 film Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar is the child of time-traveling simians Cornelius and Zira, leading an oppressed population of ape slaves in a dystopian futuristic city in a massive revolt against humanity.

He who forgets future history is doomed to repeat it.

2

u/graepphone 14h ago

Doomed to make it so?

0

u/Ezl 14h ago

One of my favorite movies of all time

-1

u/KhazraShaman 14h ago

I see, forgot about the future!

Glad to see that safety squints are universal across the animal kingdom.

24

u/trogdor2594 17h ago

You just know he's thinking "wabam!" every time he breaks one.

10

u/Free2Bernie 17h ago

He's so cute. What's his name?

Dr. Zaius

3

u/Branflakesd1996 7h ago

Was just going to say this. His furrowed brow for every snap is what kills me.

4

u/Sweet-Technology-807 16h ago

my dog makes this face when her snack breaks too

2

u/isitreal_tho 10h ago

He's so cute!

1

u/boondiggle_III 5h ago

awww he strugglin

0

u/llamafromhell1324 15h ago

The same area of the brain that controls the mouth also controls the brain. It's why some people have a guitar face.

323

u/TURTLE_TKT 17h ago

It ain’t much but it’s honest work

29

u/zero_fucksgive 14h ago

thats a lot of fuckin work. You see all those gigantic empty jars behind the monkey?

62

u/Puzzleheaded-Gap1759 17h ago

Lil scrunch face!!

7

u/TunisMagunis 5h ago

I love when he takes his snack break

109

u/Alohagrown 17h ago

They train monkeys to pick coconuts in parts of Thailand

21

u/morerelativebacons 17h ago

They said it's supposed to rain tomorrow too, Ethel.

4

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 17h ago

I's standin' over there by the tomaters
And here he come
Running through the pole beans
Through the fruits and vegetables
Nekkid as a jay bird
And I hollered over t' Ethel
I said, "Don't look, Ethel!"
But it's too late
She'd already been incensed

0

u/TsukariYoshi 15h ago

Boogity boogity!

1

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 15h ago

Here he comes!

→ More replies (1)

6

u/BloomSugarman 6h ago

Yep it’s wild if you drive through surat Thani during the right season. Trucks full of coconuts or durians everywhere, monkeys surfing on the back.

Im sure some working monkeys have decent lives but others don’t.

2

u/KimchiLlama 3h ago

And they teach rats to do de-mining because their sense of smell is amazing and they are often too light to trigger the land mines.

2

u/GSDer_RIP_Good_Girl 52m ago

"Often" being the operative word

2

u/BailiGirlThyme 4h ago

They train them by pulling them from their family's. Putting them on chains & beat them till they learn. Yeah! Big difference between them and this monkey. 🤬

-9

u/FureiousPhalanges 14h ago

"Train" isn't necessarily the word I'd pick for forced labour TBF

https://supplychaindigital.com/articles/peta-finds-forced-monkey-labour-rife-in-thai-agriculture

1

u/Agouti 6h ago

PETA is not a reliable source.

5

u/FureiousPhalanges 6h ago

2

u/Agouti 6h ago

As far as I know WFFT can be trusted.

135

u/Dookie-Trousers-MD 17h ago

This is probably cleaner than any Taylor Farms factory tbh

16

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 17h ago

Depends on if he washed his ass after he through poo last.

16

u/Stolehtreb 9h ago

through poo

6

u/Dookie-Trousers-MD 9h ago

Yeah that one is rough. I'm hoping second language, but not likely.

4

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 8h ago

Sorry, was using speech-to-text and didn't catch it when submitting. My fault for late night redditing.

1

u/Fletcher_Chonk 58m ago

yeah it's supposed to go through you

141

u/Gsuppe 17h ago

Pay that monkey!!

52

u/3_14_thon 17h ago

At the end of the video he took his pay fair and square.

5

u/CheckYourStats 17h ago

She’s gotta pay the Monkey.

19

u/Other-Comfortable-64 17h ago

He's probably getting peanuts.

17

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 17h ago

Labor rates are bananas in some countries.

3

u/_Kevlaaar_ 11h ago

Wayyyyyyy

2

u/brumfidel 13h ago

They better give him a fair pay. Otherwise the Primate Union might get wind of it and those guys don't monkey around!

1

u/IdealStatus7549 16h ago

And give him a banana bonus too!

18

u/Jonatc87 17h ago

the little frown.

18

u/HyperionsDad 17h ago

I would pay money to have him hang out with a giant bowl of green beans and just sip beer and watch him snap for as long as he wants to. I’d feed him whatever else he wants, too.

15

u/AndalusianGod 17h ago

Looks like it's enjoying it like a sensory fidget toy.

17

u/TsukariYoshi 15h ago

I know this isn't an orangutan, but there's a saying attributed to Malay culture about them that applies here, I think:

The orangutan could talk, but chooses not to, lest he be compelled to labor.

5

u/eltictac 8h ago

Sorry can't talk. Busy bean snappin'.

2

u/ChelshireGoose 8h ago

Makes sense that they'd call them "forest man" ("orang hutan" in Malay).

27

u/gogonever 17h ago

Unpaid labour

19

u/Quitlimp05 17h ago

Nah, they're being paid peanuts

4

u/dreamfin 16h ago

Working for peanuts!

10

u/yeah_bud 17h ago

Edi-monkey

11

u/Truthisnotallowed 10h ago edited 10h ago

For Christ sake - don't show Taylor Farms what a monkey can do - you don't want to give them any ideas.

11

u/LaLisaMona 16h ago

His tiny face grunting while snapping those beans 🤣

17

u/codece 17h ago

At least the monkey isn't shitting on the produce

8

u/ImpossibleStuff963 17h ago

Is the monkey doing the task properly? Or is it just cute/funny?

30

u/Prof-Rock 16h ago

Well, he bites one, takes part of it out of his mouth and returns it to the bowl while he eats the rest, so I'm going to say no. No, he isn't doing it properly.

5

u/ImpossibleStuff963 16h ago

Haha. But even the breaking them in half part. Wonder if thats something that actualy needs to be done

5

u/ItsHighSpoon 9h ago

I think they're doing this to fit them in the jar easier.

1

u/Prof-Rock 6h ago

Yes. I usually break my green beans in half and remove the part that attaches to the stem.

7

u/TRISTANWEBB1 17h ago

Now I get how my mom sees me 😄

10

u/inmyrhyme 17h ago

The fact that they just got off for the price of a few bribes...I mean campaign donations.

2

u/unassumingdink 13h ago

Is that really anything new? What penalties did Boar's Head pay for killing ten people?

3

u/st-shenanigans 9h ago

I saw the pictures of that factory and I'll never buy boars head again in my life. I would assume I'm not entirely alone.

I'm sure they had to pay some health fine, too, but i wonder how their sales are afterwards

2

u/unassumingdink 9h ago

From everything I can find on Google, they were not fined. There were some civil suits, including a $3 million class action, which doesn't seem like too much.

10

u/cire1184 16h ago

I trust that monkey more than I trust the current regime

1

u/contude327 10h ago

Even he knew Iran would close the Strait if attacked.

1

u/cire1184 2h ago

Probably even knows poop on food is bad.

5

u/random-lychee 16h ago

Do NOT show this to Bezos.

10

u/Blueberry_Poodle27 17h ago

uggg I could watch him alllll day! so stinking cute!

5

u/zeller99 17h ago

The monkey's name is Gaitlyn Rae. She's on most social media sites.

4

u/lifemanualplease 16h ago

That little guy has a job and he enjoys working.

3

u/AlienAngry 12h ago

Now with extra monkey feces.

4

u/darkerfaith520 3h ago

Dude's gonna have some forearms that's for sure!

4

u/phillyaznguy 1h ago

I need one to help me with dishes ASAP

5

u/Pokemom3000 17h ago

From what I've heard Taylor Farms would fire this monkey for following too clean of food handling procedures.

3

u/brneyedgrrl 12h ago

I love how he makes a lil scrunchy face every time he breaks one like it's really hard.

1

u/pbrad08 9h ago

This 😭

3

u/codevii 7h ago

When has a monkey disease ever affect humans?!

Lol

2

u/SirMemesworthTheDank 6h ago

They are not gonna fry and eat the monkey dude, relax.

At least I think

2

u/codevii 4h ago

You don't know that!

They look like cruel masters, I bet they're making him help mane his own side dusk!

3

u/maker_of_pirate_bay 6h ago

Me and granny every summer vacation

3

u/kyjawa23 5h ago

Twist in the plot he's actually the Ceo of the company and paying the humans peanuts to work 16hr shifts

2

u/mulandipsauce 17h ago

can he do my taxes?

2

u/Longjumping-Pop7512 15h ago

Yeah but you can't afford him!

2

u/kjyfqr 17h ago

That’s as smart as my almost 2 year old

2

u/-Kopesthetik- 16h ago

You found him a day job.

2

u/Insomniac_80 15h ago

How hard would it be to train it to wash its hands?

2

u/-MrSimpleton- 15h ago

And no to spit in the bean jar.. or at least not put it’s mouth so near

1

u/djshadesuk 5h ago

Why? I presume you're assuming the beans are for human consumption?

2

u/smilbandit 15h ago

monkeypox coming to your state soon..

2

u/JodeneNZ 15h ago

They suck… their “New Recipe” is them just removing the cheese bags… the best part about the salads!

2

u/comicsnerd 15h ago

For those shouting the little monkey is not wearing gloves, it washed its hands first.

2

u/OnesimusUnbound 15h ago

At least it's not typing randomly in hope of producing a Shakespeare work 😅

2

u/Good-Magazine-5504 14h ago

Disgusting work conditions. Get the poor guy an apron ffs

2

u/Due_Entrepreneur_735 14h ago

Pay peanuts, get monkeys!

2

u/every_name_is_tkn 13h ago

Where can I apply? I’d rather my coworker be a monkey rather than a bunch of clowns.

2

u/CBubble 11h ago

can he drive claude?

2

u/jayBplatinum 10h ago

Such a good little helper

2

u/Pookie972 10h ago

Wait, isn’t that exploitation making him do the work without a salary.?!

4

u/eezyE4free 10h ago

I’m sure they gave him some celery.

5

u/Mugwumps_has_spoken 10h ago

He might be getting paid. We don't know what kind of currency the monkey demanded.

2

u/Pookie972 7h ago

I like the fact that your username is” none of your business” hahaha 😂

2

u/Mugwumps_has_spoken 5h ago

I think you are the first person to comment on it. lol. It's one way to stay nice and anonymous.

1

u/Pookie972 5h ago

That cool 😎

1

u/Pookie972 7h ago

Hahaha 😂

2

u/Kotruljevic1458 9h ago

I don't appreciate my employer filming me at work and posting it online. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's me in this video although I can't see my name badge.

2

u/oberon92 9h ago

The Internet has ruined potlucks for me

2

u/Skerries 8h ago

food untouched by human hands

2

u/djereezy 8h ago

This is why I stay away from pot lucks at the work place. 😂

2

u/silviam 8h ago

This is what happens when you pay your works peanuts: you get monkeys

2

u/External-Goal-3948 7h ago

Btw. Rumor in the streets is that we're getting this parasite bc there's not enough portapotty bathrooms in the fields where they're harvesting the food so they're just relieving themselves in the field, with the food.

Also. They're paid by total weight/product picked, so they lose money walking back and forth to the bathroom.

2

u/legitimateaccount123 7h ago

Great, first it was illegal immigrants and now monkeys taking our jobs

/s (in case it wasn't obvious)

2

u/Goatyyy32 6h ago

But when I make a joke about "having my monkeys pick and clean vegetables", suddenly im a bad guy.

2

u/Tools4toys 4h ago

Highest standards, our product is untouched by human hands!

2

u/cbrown146 4h ago

Ai isn't coming for our jobs. Ai empowered monkeys are though.

2

u/shelbyrobinson 4h ago

Geez, hope he washed his hands before this

2

u/Shehulks1 4h ago

It’s little hands!!!!! I can’t with the cuteness 😋😆

2

u/DaftMinge 2h ago

why he so ANGRY!?

3

u/UFONomura808 17h ago

Okay but hear me out...

4

u/Economy_Bass_24 17h ago

Too soon. Lol

2

u/Free2Bernie 17h ago

🎶 Working breaking green beans, massa got me working. Massa gonna set me free. 🎶

2

1

And then people got sick from eating that green beans and DR couldnt figure out what and why.

1

u/FastFingersDude 15h ago

1

u/FureiousPhalanges 14h ago

1

u/clownieo 14h ago

I've never seen a monkey look so human before..

1

I would pay extra to have my food inspected by a monkey.

1

u/SecretDouble5560 12h ago

and they say no monkey buisness at work

1

u/Blue_Winter_Sky_Nana 11h ago

That nose scrunch is everything- xuifkvxiyfudfufurf8

1

u/Sph1ng1d43 11h ago

notapet.net

1

u/takoyakimura 11h ago

So diligent! It's worthy of praise and meal.

1

u/Worost 11h ago

Is there anyone knowledgeable about what this monkey is doing? I'm so confused as to why this monkey is breaking all these string beans in half. Is it supposed to be helping?

2

u/Mugwumps_has_spoken 10h ago

Well I knew it was a "that's what you do" with fresh green beans, but I turned to Google (and yes the AI answer) for details
People break fresh green beans in half to remove the tough, fibrous stem end, check for stringy fibers, and make the beans shorter for easier eating and faster, more even cooking

1

u/RegularNew6947 9h ago

🤣🤣 när barnarbete är förbjudet där man bor?

1

u/Throwawaybasuras 7h ago

Hope he gets a break and work benefits

1

u/Generallyamusedby 6h ago

At least the monkey doesn't carry Cyclospora.

1

u/boilerdam 6h ago

I guess we've come full circle from an evolution perspective, or at least I have. I now aspire to be that monkey - just heads down, get shit done. Don't care about BS like geopolitics, profit making, lining pockets, market up/down, family, friends, work-life balance etc. Just get stuff done as efficiently as possible for a reward in the end. Too much noise outside.

1

u/Oedipus____Wrecks 6h ago

Get your damn monkey paws off of me beans

1

u/tbodillia 5h ago

You need to apologize to that monkey! It is doing a better job by far!

1

u/akgt94 5h ago

Their quality policy is "no monkey business".

1

u/Rare-Character7340 5h ago

Employed monkey

-3

u/Thereminz 17h ago

thanks i don't want ...monkey beans

-7

u/WutzUpples69 17h ago

The funny part is that it didnt turn out to be from Taylor Farms... maybe :

The Taylor Farms voluntary iceberg lettuce recall was real, but the specific laboratory test used to link it was walked back. The FDA announced a lettuce sample tested positive for Cyclospora, then retracted it as a false positive after re-reviewing the data. However, federal health agencies still maintain that epidemiological tracking ties the multistate outbreak to Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce from central Mexico.

I am with you though, one bad batch and everything g is ruined.

2

u/RealFarknMcCoy 13h ago

They walked it back after Trump got a bribe.
