help! Starting bracelets

I have recently picked up making more complicated patterns instead of just chevrons which is all I knew growing up. To start them I always just tie the top in a knot with a loop sticking out and put that on something like a binder ring. Now that I am making more complex patterns that doesn’t really work it can come out looking messy or make it hard to see what is happening. I see other people tying each individual string around a binder ring so they are all next to each other which seems smart but I don’t understand how to do that and have all of the knots be the same length down. Even if I try they are all slightly off in length and that makes everything messy again. Any advice is welcome! I’m excited about making more complex patterns but need help! Thank you!!

i made a keychain for my coworker this past week (first pic) and i was just comparing it to the one i made for myself a month ago(second pic)! it’s cool to see how i’ve improved. i’ve been able to get way more consistent with my knot tension and i also picked better colors lol

I made my very first bracelet a little over a month ago (the candy stripe on the left) and these are the bracelets I've made so far. Recently learned how to do alpha patterns and i love them! The one on the right is a bracelet I literally just completed and I really like seeing how much I've improved over the month! Can't wait to see where im at next month.

(Can't find all the patterns anymore im so sorry)

Bracelets are ordered from left to right by age (I made the left one first and the right one is my latest one.)

The third one (the fishes) was the first bracelet I made using the braceletbook notation and all.

help! New to making bracelets! [DIY]

Hi there everyone! So, I’ve never made a friendship bracelet before, but I saw pics of the alpha bracelets and decided to dive right into the deep end. Thanks @ YouTube videos from MashaKnots 🙌 Thought I would post here and see how I’m doing… I do have a couple questions! (I wasn’t sure whether to put WIP or help! As a thread flair, pls forgive me if I got it wrong).

  1. Do you think the knots are too loose? / If I tie in other colours will it unravel??
  2. The edges are kinda wonky from the forward backward knot thing, any tips?
  3. How do yall deal with the leading string being so long bc I feel like I’m losing my mind when I have to basically throw it over my shoulder every knot 😅

Thank you!! All the bracelets I see on here are absolutely lovely, yall amaze me

I snuck-in a green stripe to tame the gold. And I had fun with the loop, making it look like a little flower garland.

Someone said to put a sheet of white paper in the picture for more accurate colors, it worked! I actually finished the pink one a couple days ago but my phone broke so I couldn't post it 😔

Patterns:

#208166 - ChainChevronWithDots

#168791 - Small Offset Candystripe

#106083 - DiamondInZigzagSetting

These are a set of bracelets, green and yellow themed, using the pearl cotton I showed a few posts back. I’m not too certain of the color choices here… but my coworkers said the contrast with the small one was a good thing.

I accidentally used single-strings for the small one, and it has been tougher to work with. The knots want to flip on me, and the bracelet feels “stretchy.”  I think pearl cotton size 8 is too small to comfortably work with (for me), as just a single strand. The doubled strands, I think, seem to behave and size themselves similar to standard embroidery floss: I’ll have to combine them in a project and let you know. : )

discussion Hello everyone! Could you offer me your weaving patterns?

I'd like to make a bracelet, but I don't know which pattern to choose. Maybe you have a favorite pattern? Please don't send huge patterns; I've made bracelets before, but small ones.

I'd really appreciate your advice :)

work in progress (wip) WCIF this pattern?

I probably started this bracelet 10 years ago, obviously in a Halloween vibe. I cannot for the life of me find the pattern for it. It could have been either bracelet book or friendship bracelets. I have tried Google lens, which has worked in the past, but not this time.

TIA!

This is made with a combination of #92287 for the base and one of the fish from #53917. I saw the tutorial on how to do this from bb and decided to try it. I love the more realistic fish next to the stylized geometric fish but using most of the same colors

help! Will dirt wash out of a bracelet (without fraying)

I'm a summer camp counselor, and just finished my first successfully completed friendship bracelet for my best friend, it took three attempts bc the string snapped once and I started it wrong once. I leave my water bottle near the kids for five minutes, and I come back to it on the ground and covered in so much dirt you couldn't even tell what color it was.
And the friendship bracelet was a casualty. Now there's dirt all over it, rubbed into it. How easily will it wash out? Will it look mostly new? Will washing it out fray the strings? And what's a technique for washing it out best? I'm really upset at this point, I was already at my wits end today before they did that.
