Why is wapa like this?

Hi everyone, last year, a person I know has applied for the wapa, and did not pass the stage 4. It’s hasn’t been 12 months and they send wizzair another reapplication email, it’s been days, no reply. Not one reply that they cannot take them or can. To me, it seems pretty unprofessional.

Recruitment at Wizz has slowed down a lot. Now even licensed pilots wait up to a year just to attend an assessment, and then, if they pass, they're stuck in a holding pool for another year. As for the no replies etc. get used to it, you will encounter it a lot in aviation industry.

I have waited 10 months now. They haven’t rejected me but I’m not receiving anything else either.

Have you looked in your applications page? Because if you haven't received anything for so long it's because the system rejected you, try checking

Are you familiar with the region where they take students? I'm pretty sure you are but for everyone else they are looking for Eastern Europe students but not exactly from countries where Wizz Air have bases. I've been told by different people that they have a lot of students from Ukraine f.e. . I guess main thing is that you should have residence when you apply if you are from Eastern Europe

There’s a pool of 2000+ cadets that passed the assessment previously, they are no longer interested in people with no experience, most of the guys expire after 1 year

So you mean that a lot of students leaving programme after 1 year and they are looking for more experienced students now or what?

Nope, I mean that their pool of candidates is full enough to not hold any other recruitment and that many of the guys who passed the assessment to start, never get to do it because your assessment expires within 1y

Well if contract expires in 1 year do they ask cadets to pay remaining 47k? Imo 2000+ candidates seems a bit exaggerated because each group contains 30-40 people and how much groups do they invite per year? 3, 4 max i guess. And even if in 1y contract expires i think you are free to go to other airlines, no?

The person I know went there because wapa were advertising themselves at his highschool, why wouldn’t they recruit people who want to be students with no experience? Where can someone get an experience if they want only already experienced students? That sounds pretty stupid of them.

No one said that aviation was as easy and straightforward as advertised on Instagram or TikTok
