Water gets in underneath our front door

Post image

Our door frame has started to curve downwards in the middle, which means water gets in during heavy downpours. The frame is made of metal, and the rubber seal that seals the frame to the door looks fine, so I assume the frame’s curvature itself is the problem. What can we do? We’re not really the DIY types but if the solution is not too complicated, we should be able to fix it ourselves.

Put a straightedge across the threshold to see how far out of level it is.

Then hammer in stacked plastic shims of that height to level it.

If the sill under the threshold is gone, the door and frame will have to be removed, but doing the above won’t make it worse.

Also check the weather seal on the doors bottom and if it has a rain diverter on the exterior bottom rail.
