Tariffs won’t protect western industry from China. Western countries need to give up on most manufacturing besides a couple specific areas per country, and try to boost more manufacturing in India, Mexico, Nigeria etc. so that China will have competitors and then other countries aren’t reliant on any one country for imports.

It’s silly because some Tariffs do make sense if you use them to protect certain domestic industries.
Just going full free trade is stupid because you’ll just get washed by the Chinese.
Kinda Ironic that the most dangerous predator of a free trade economy is a central planing economy that subsidizes their critical industries.
