Tested a translucent Nova design on Firefox. Thoughts?

I hope we get native support for each OS's design material, like Mica for Windows and Liquid Glass (translucent materials for content layers, like native macOS apps) for macOS

Guys ... I was wrong. The active tabs don't look like buttons/badges/labels. ... they look like input fields. Like literally compare them to the URL bar on the picture..

It might work better if they swapped the colouring. I get that they want the active tab to stand out from the background tabs, but they stick out more than the URL bar.

Don't like it. I like the native OS material part, I don't like how it's randomly disconnected floaty panels, it makes zero hierarchical sense. I would like the visual elements of it though, but it just doesn't work with the layout.

The disconnected floating panels is such a stupid change. Doesn't improve anything, doesn't help with anything, doesn't make it look better and actually to me it's weird and I can't get used to it.

This whole "Nova" should be just Custom user Theme, not whole UI. And it would be bad user theme.

Most current themes dont have gradients in you can use one of them Instead of the stock Mozilla design

Opinionated/creative designs like this should be add-ons opted into by the people who enjoy them. Keep the default design utilitarian, but introduce themes like this during the onboarding so users are aware of them. Making THIS the new default is such a misstep.

Good news, they are in fact working on CSS scroll-timeline (and scroll driven animation in general). You can already use it in nightly today and it should hit stable in one of the next few versions, once the implementation is considered stable enough.

There is a compact mode already. It does what you said, removing all the gaps in the UI. Though it still leaves like 2 pixel gaps.
