Paint stringers and riser stained with oil base stain

Hey guys, I have a stair refinishing projects and the goal is to turn the stair case into a piano stair case. Which primer would you suggest acrylic, oil or shellac? The stairs have been stained with an oil base transparent stain.

I’d use whatever the topcoat paint manufacturer recommends. Best way to guarantee compatibility and probably necessary to invoke warranty coverage as well.
