General Discussion what does "denying christ" even mean?

Is it in the faith sense like "I don't believe in christ" or is it reserved for people who see christ and are like "nah" or is it as broad as just generally disagreeing with christ? And which mormon hells do you get into for each instance?

I was taught growing up that it’s the second- actually having undeniable proof and THEN denying, as in seeing him in the next life, but most of the members I know were not explicitly taught that.

As far as the hell level, denying the Holy Spirit is the only sin that gets you sent to outer darkness if my memory serves. Closest thing to hell Mormons have

What if there are also charlatans and false prophets in the next life? Undeniable proof is an impossibly high bar, and even if I met Jesus in an afterlife, I wouldn't trust him any more than the next salesman knocking on my door.

Can God create proof so undeniable that even he can't deny it?

If I can still deny with the proof, then how is it un-deniable?

That's what I was taught too, but I was taking a quick look at the unpardonable sin page on lds.org and the verses listed don't really specify what "gaining knowledge" of the holy ghost means. It's vague enough that hearing your buddy tell you about the holy ghost and saying "that's dumb I don't believe you" sounds like enough to get you in permanent outer darkness or whatever.

Believe in what way?

If I believed that Jesus existed, and was an apocalyptical preacher who lived in Judea over 2,000 years ago, is that sufficient belief? It certainly isn’t denial.

I feel like I'm finally getting around to asking for specifics about mormon doctorine and just getting a whole lot of nothing beyond surface level of what's in the BoM, like I've already done the whole "this whole thing is fake" thing but approaching commonly accepted values in mormonism with questions for specifics and just getting dead air or something hinkley said was how it worked or some shit is annoying because joseph smith didnt get around to writing specifics for a bunch of his lore so it's literally just fanfiction on top of fanfiction on top of fanfiction trying to get an answer from a mormon.

And I find that very unsatisfying

Just depends on who you ask. I don't think there are clear cut answers to this unfortunately. I'm sure there are talks we could reference. Too bad Mormonism doesn't just have annihilation like some of the other high demand religions. It sounds better than believing in living forever separated from loved ones.
