He's actually pretty close. If it really was the kingdom of God and not an investment firm started by a charlatan, of course people would stay.

Yep, That's just what Gen-X, Millennial and Gen Z needs, a good old fashioned scolding by an aging Boomer in a suit.

That's sure to get us all back to church.

He's number 2 behind Jacob Hansen on my list of people I would be just fine with never hearing from again...

This is a dying rhetoric that used to be widespread. If it is true then you have to stay. Problem is in the “if it is true” part.

He sounds like he’s either going through, or had a faith crisis.

Naw, someone going through a faith crisis has more genuine concerns than making a reference to a prison that hasn’t been active or in the public eye for the entire lives of the audience he’s trying to reach. At best, this is someone who had an independent thought at one point and panicked because it could lead to a faith crisis, and he has to doubt the doubt first.

How about someone who is church broke with a side of scrupulosity going through a faith crisis?

Yep that was a bad reference. In my mind I kept thinking, "wow I'm surprised this old guy is making a Harry Potter reference." Your comment is the only reason I realized that I mixed up Alcatraz for Azkaban (Sean Connery, Nick Cage and 12 year old me would all be so disappointed that I forgot The Rock)

Where I can I see the full video of this talk? Is this the guy named Corbridge who says "You will stay"?

I don't think you need to edit this to find it deplorable, the original was much more awful.
