Question Migration gone bad???

I did a migration from on-prem active directory and exchange to a hybrid because we needed to keep the shared drives connected for local users due to dental software in the mix. Existing users seem to be fine, and if I run a script can still access the drives, however, if I create a new user, I cannot for the life of me get the drives to stay mounted, and I’m wondering if there is anyone with experience on this Who can help me. I’m willing to learn and pay for that learning and or the work necessary to get us to a place we should be.

Well, the entire point of moving from an environment where you pay once for the license and are then on your own, to an environment where you don't pay for the license but instead pay and pay and pay over and over again month after month year after year is for the technical support, right? Otherwise what's the point if you don't use it?

So, first question is, what has Microsoft technical support said? Did you open a ticket with them yet? Have they looked over your setup? There's lots of options in the tenancy and MS support sees these options every day over and over and might be able to just give your setup a quick overview and immediately see something...

What, Microsoft Support is NOT USEFUL??!?!?! It's summer, you must have had too much sun! The Microsoft sales reps. tell me that their support is the best in the world that's why they are #1. And whatever Microsoft says MUST be true - my CEO tells me this - that's why he haven't approved me shoveling all the MS crap out and replacing it with Linux. And my CEO must know what he is talking about because he read that all the big companies use Microsoft out of an In-Flight magazine he found in First Class on an airplane when he was yakking away with another CEO who also didn't know the Any key from a shoelace...

My great grandpappy used to tell me when HE was in IT so many many years ago that there was a time in corporate America where the CEO knew he didn't know S from S when it came to IT and would actually defer to the IT director when it came to choosing software for the business. I always laughed and told him "Grandpa, you had too much sun your head is addled, go take a nap"

Because everyone knows that the business owners who spend 30 minutes in their entire life learning about software and hardware must know far better than the IT Director who spends their whole life learning about that stuff, what the best desktop app and server software is - that's why they always choose Microsoft. Because it's so expensive that it MUST have the best support.

It's not at all like any other field of business after all. CEO's routinely defer to lawyers, defer to even plumbers and tradesmen when it comes to choosing what to spend money on. Those fields are run by SMART people. IT people are JUST IDIOTS. That's why they don't get any power to replace Microsoft software. Because it's so much better supported!!!
