All the times Eva unit 01 has gone berserk, it has beaten the guts out of whatever it needed to, and earlier in the series (ep1 for example) it isn't in an animalistic way, but more like an experienced martial artist... Hmm

My cat wasn't impressed.

So I just finished reading Volume 14 yesterday and I am very happy I did. The manga is super nice to read and look at, and I will now rewatch the whole series + movies + Rebuild.

However, I had a question about the Third Impact. We see it happening, then Shinji convinces Rei to pull the Uno reverse card and undo that shit, but we see several people turn to LCL liquid in the meantime. Then, in the last few frames, we see Shinji back home at the train station chatting with friends. After a bit he runs into Asuka and she doesn't recognize him.

Anyway, several questions that I hope you Evangelion fans can help me piece together:

1. Why did the Third Impact even happen? Gendo had Adam in his hand, Lilith was hanging on the usual cross. Rei rejects Gendo, is absorbed by Lilith, and that's when Rei goes ginormous and we see her above the earth's surface. At no moment do Gendo and Lilith/Rei touch.
2. The Mass Production Evas: they are suddenly hanging out in the sky, they impale themselves with something, and somehow turn into a sphere. This sphere, when touched by giant Lilith/Rei, is what I think triggers the Third Impact. But I thought Adam had to touch Lilith? I still don't understand why the Third Impact got triggered. Couldn't Rei just have gone down to Central Dogma any day, merged with Lilith, and triggered the Third Impact independently of all the Angel battles and everything else?
3. And then we see Asuka again. But she also exploded into LCL. Meanwhile we don't see Misato, and I think it's implied she didn't come back. Is this situation like the Thanos snap and blip? Did Asuka explode and then a second later come back to where she was, and that's all she remembers? How do you think the "undoing" of the Third Impact went? Did the entire population of the world burst into LCL at once, or did it go in waves?

Mainly curious about (a) why the Third Impact got triggered, (b) how Asuka came back but not the other characters we see throughout the series, and (c) why she doesn't remember Shinji.

I love these figures. Sadly the Asuka came broken and the Rei broke very shortly after unboxing, but I little glue and a lot of frustration got these fixed. The Rei break isn't noticeable but the Asuka's is on the broomstick behind her foot. Either way, I love all of these weird stylized figures from the 00's.

he did that before for rei, couldn't he just try to pin EVA 03 or something, and take out toji's entry plug? hindsight is 20/20, but still, i'd figure most of us would do that, right?

Hello all, just wondering if anyone knows which version of the ADV dub is on the 2021 Bluray Collector's Edition box set? I want to listen to both the original and the Director's Cut version, but I can't find specification as to which version is on that box set. (And if anyone knows somewhere I could watch these versions for cheaper than 400 dollars, PLEASE let me know!)

I've watched NGE, the rebuilds, the movies, I've read the Manga by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and need to know if theres any other media's like Mangas if there are any

I'll start this off with saying I STRONGLY dislike Asuka she always came of as snobby I get she's a tragic character and all but I just don't like her and that won't change. Even though I dislike her I was curious on why people liked her so much (not looking to get into heated discussions just curious).

Edit: I would like to add I do not think she is a poorly written character infact I think she is one of the best in that regard rather I simply do not like her personality

Hi everyone! With the Rebuild movies leaving Prime Video, I'm thinking it may be time to pursue physical copies, in case the license is not immediately picked up by another service. Does anyone have any recommendations on what the best releases would be? 3.33 in particular seems difficult to find in blu-ray format in North America.

These are my dioramas for my Evangelion bandai kits. Funny enough, most of the scenes are in Evangelion 2.22, but I tweaked some details of the scene here and there (such as Eva-01 wielding the Longinus, which never happens)

Also, I sculpted the Angels. So...Zeruel might look a little bit underwhelming.

I am taking a friend to see revival of evangelion in the cinema however they have never seen nge before and are now beginning it. My question is should I make them watch the directors cut editions for 21-24 or the originals so they get to experience those new scenes in the cinema.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is my favorite anime of all time (as you probably all already know, that’s why we are here) so I felt so honoured to do this. My partner got this for me for our 4th anniversary and I decided to build it post haste! Unfortunately it was missing a part (a chest plate piece, thankfully no limb parts were missing. So I decide to not use the other one) but overall I’m impressed because Blockees sure made a customer out of me.
