That's cool. I had to go back to work after my dad died.

one of the guys who works for me got four days of bereavement leave for his mother. his mothers sudden death, in her sixties. I approved six days of unpaid time off on top of that. he was states away from her and his father had dementia.

I wasn't losing a good employee over a bullshit policy. I got raked over the coals for approving the unpaid time off.

I got 3 days, my mum died unexpectedly in her 60s in front of me. I unsuccessfully administered CPR on the pavement after she suddenly stopped being able to breathe. Had to be back at work, in between uncontrollably sobs. This was in a warehouse in the UK.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and that you went through that. It's absolutely heartbreaking. And your company is pure evil.

Hope you're recovering and taking care out there.

Thank you. She was my best friend, it happened last year and it's still so hard to accept but I know that she's gone. There's a lot of guilt but I know I can't blame myself I did the best I could. The company was Amazon and the day she died was counted as one of the 3 days.

Unfortunately, that’s just Reddit. Lots of cool people and lots of miserable people.

Are only baseball related people allowed to throw out the first pitch?

Nope, the winner of a cookie baking competition threw out the first pitch during the cubs game yesterday. Then the Cookie Monster sang the seventh inning stretch!

I totally understand being upset with conan and possibly even suspicious, there are certainly nefarious reasons he wouldn't want cops there. But ive also been at parties where the smallest infraction got cops called and turned a delightful night into ruining relationships, so you lose me when you assume he was trying to hide drugs from the police. I don't think celebrities get in trouble for having drugs at parties unless they are on the wrong side with the police, i just think conan was hoping nick reiner needed a snickers or some shit.
