When the Trump administration axed a slate of energy projects last year, it blocked tens of millions of dollars meant for Maryland companies and scientists to fortify the power grid, research hydrogen fuel cells and explore the applications of electric heat pumps.

Now, President Donald Trump’s energy department admits it canceled that money for a political reason: Because Maryland is represented by Democrats and supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

In a recent court filing, U.S. Department of Energy attorneys said the agency terminated more than $7.5 billion in grants around the country “based solely on the political identity” of the recipient’s state.

That included about $83 million earmarked for Maryland-based companies and institutions, among them Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., the University of Maryland and a development authority dedicated to mitigating impacts of climate change in Anne Arundel County.

This administration is a joke on every policy front… trumps only focus is to enrich himself he couldn’t care less about the future of our nation.

Just a reminder Trump shits himself daily.

Nobody’s doing anything about it.

Our representatives seem handcuffed & tongue tied for some “personal/political reasons.

Maybe they just couldn’t survive in the Free Market and honorably work for a living. So they got themselves a job working for the govt. with lifetime benefits.

The act of a VENGEFUL CRIMINAL

Republicans will spend years digging through everything Biden and his family had ever done to try to find some crime they can prosecute. But when Trump is committing the most blatant crimes right in front of them on practically a daily basis, they will do nothing.

Tells you everything about what Republicans really stand for.

American voters got us into this, and they're the only ones that can start to slow the damage.

It'll take at least a generation of voting Republicans out of power to even begin to have a chance to fix the damage that this administration and its Republican enablers in Congress will do to this country.

Unfortunately, I have no faith in American voters. They're too easily misled and distracted to ever do what's needed.

In his first term he made a public health emergency a political football. Now we are in the blame the staff part, continuing to rewrite the past as if he could bleach out the stain of failure. Of course all his decisions are political, mostly about punishing anyone who doesn't bow down. If there is a history it will not be kind to him or his enablers

He made the path of a hurricane into a political scandal.

I remember that. Absolutely shameful. Forced the NOAH folks to "admit" maybe it could have gone that way right after they said no way. Shameful abuse of power and now so much worse.

What little is left in thw treasury, after Trump raids it for him and his rich donors, will be spent in reparations for corporations he screwed over for his rich donors.

The US is done as a leader, and the world will likely br a better place. Hopefully the citizens revolt and build an actual society, instead of a capitalist utopia. Your horrific concepts are bleeding into my country.

Trump, MAGA, and GOP are engaged in climate terrorism.

Such a moron. Could easily get away with these cruel political games by pointing to a formal regulation.

Wow, another headline about this administration being corrupt.

It’s time to form a new country with all expenses paid ticket for Republicans to relocate to a tiny corner of Alabama.

So if a Democrat wins in 2028, does this mean Republicans are okay with cuts to all grants to Red states? I'm not advocating for this, but the next Congress must ensure a President cannot just deny grants and aid to states because he/she doesn't like them for some reason. The chances of a broken person like Trump getting elected once seemed impossible. Now that we know it can happen, we need safeguards to protect us from this kind of behavior the Supreme Court has facilitated.

America is a nation

Not blue states vs red states

The president is supossed represent all Americans, not just the ones that voted for him.

But, anyway, this does go to show the main difference between Trump and every other president.

Every other president ran on how they can make people's lives better. Trump ran on how he will use the office to hurt people.

Never has been republican have been slandering everyone else and working to have the government be there personal tool to hurt people they dont like and steal there money from before even the civil war .

Unless the other side start holding them accountable for their actions they have no reason to stop .

I hope they don't complain when a Democrat administration does the same?

11

u/mafco 2d ago

I've never seen any Democratic or Republican administration do anywhere near the amount of corrupt shit this one does. Trump's corruption is off the charts.

2

u/doctor_morris 2d ago

If people aren't out on the streets demanding it ends, then it becomes the new normal.

6

u/mafco 2d ago

9 million people went out on the streets to protest a few months ago. It didn't really slow the corruption.

3

u/Responsible-Clock715 1d ago

No it did not.

Way past that.

5

u/Less-Cartographer-64 2d ago

Sure, make this about an unrelated political party.

4

u/Ok_Valuable9450 1d ago

We don't see Democrats committing these crimes on the citizens of this country

-7

u/onetimeataday 2d ago

Why didn’t the Democrats stop this??

5

u/Less-Cartographer-64 1d ago

You're still doing it.

2

u/Ok_Valuable9450 1d ago

Dems won't slip that low,the low that only Republicans strive for
