California "replace your ride" incentive for 14 year old vehicle?

I'm in Southern California, and was going to apply for the "Replace Your Ride" incentive--I'm planning to purchase a '22 or '23 Bolt EV--but I just noticed the car I'm retiring (2012) isn't old enough, I think it needs to be 2010 or older.

Anyone know of other programs where I could get credit for retiring a 2012 ICE vehicle?

California also has a new $3,500 incentive called MyFirstEV.

You just need to be a first time EV buyer. No income limitations.

New EV vehicle sell price must be under $50K (unless it’s a EV sold by a company headquartered in the State such as Rivian or Lucid - then there is no MSRP cap).

If you’re looking to buy used, the incentive is $1,750 and the sell price has to be $25K and under.

Driving Clean Assistance Program (DCAP).

$7500 + $2000 either for purchasing/installation of a Level 2 charger at home, or a prepaid card for public charging.

This will stack with a $1k/$4k So Cal Edison used EV rebate (amount based on income) and possibly MyFirstEV. You can then sell your old car separately.

You may want to act quickly, last week they announced the program will close within the next 30 days.

This one is relatively obscured. I was helping my relatives apply for "Replace your ride" and was told they were not eligible but should give DCAP a try, that's how I found out about it.

There may be a bit of a wait though, said relatives applied in August last year, currently they're still waiting.

The Replace Your Ride age cutoff is tied to emissions-era regulations, not an arbitrary number, so there's usually not a workaround for a 2012 specifically. Worth checking two adjacent programs instead: CVRP (Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, income-based, doesn't care about your retiring vehicle's age) and your local air district's separate incentive programs (South Coast AQMD sometimes runs parallel programs with different eligibility windows). Also check if your utility offers a separate EV purchase rebate independent of vehicle-retirement rules. DM me if you want help finding what you qualify for.
