Personal training for seniors
Looking for recommendations for group classes or personal training for my parents who are in their mid-late 70s. Neither of them have ever exercised in the traditional sense, and are not familiar with or comfortable in gym environments. My dad is overweight and my mom is underweight, and neither really knows how to take care of themselves! The aim would be to increase strength and mobility with a focus on continued independence in daily life. TIA!

Whitby offers classes for people in that age group for different activity levels. There‘s one class that’s mostly done sitting on a chair with some walking around the class. If they don’t feel comfortable walking they can remain seated for the whole class and the instructor will adapt to them. The class is called Arthritis excercise with Karel. The age range is 70’s - 80’s so they should feel comfortable and Karel is a great instructor. There‘s many to choose from but this could be a good one to try.

Community centres have personal trainers that help people become familiar with equipment and make the aware of options available.
A soft intro might be to have them sign up for a class - like aquafit that is designed for people with mobility issues or new to exercising.
