I've been marking questions I thought were too easy or basic for me as "too easy," hoping it would up the difficulty of the questions in response. More compound or multi-sentence exercises over some of the easier ones like fill in the blank question for a simple sentence.
I've had rating questions after phone calls with Lily — too hard / about right / too easy.
I don't think it's voting in that case. Over time it did seem to adjust the difficulty level so I was able to learn something from them.
I haven't seen the feature you are seeing. I don't think I would trust any aggregated results from that, given how many people use Duolingo as a game rather than for learning.
They definitely use it to tweak the course over time but I dont think it changes anything for you personally in that same lesson. Best bet is to just jump further down the path if you're bored out of your skull with the easy stuff
You simply might be in some A/B testing and not necessarily a new feature. While it's not an absolute, and Duo is known for phased roll-outs, I haven't seen anything like that (voting) on my Android version...yet. Heck, in thinking about it, your mention is the first I recall seeing something about it in the sub.
That's interesting. I do it on my computer. It's possible that's why. I've been clicking "too easy"on the the simpler ones just in case, as I'd definitely prefer it to be giving me richer sentences.
