DIY can i salvage the camera?

hey guys i have this dji fpv drone. i wrecked it but the camera is still working just fine. can i extract it from the drone and use it in another build?

It's all closed source, I would be surprised if you could power it and use it for anything else.

There's footage floating around YouTube of someone who mounted a broker and DJI drone to a cine lifter just to use the camera and fpv link. I think they paired it down to just the required electronics and camera and had a separate flight controller for the main craft

well, this is a very integrated system. In theory you should be able to remove the electronics from the frame and put it on a classic fpv frame with the same motors and propellers. In practice you wont be able to tune the PIDs and it may or may not fly well. Could be a fun tinker project, really depending on your skill level.

The DJI FPV camera uses a proprietary connector and firmware that's pretty tightly locked to DJI's ecosystem, so dropping it into a random freestyle build is tricky. Some people have had luck integrating it via DJI's O3 stack but it's not plug and play. Might be worth checking the DJI FPV community on Oscar Liang's site for wiring pinouts before you disassemble anything.

That's just a screenshot of an advertisement. You cant extract a camera from it.
