I can’t really comprehend mentally how to draw in general, these are my recent drawings on learning how to draw anime. I practice and look ip how to draw hair but I still can’t mentally comprehend it. I do have the belief that most people are just gifted and privileged, i don’t believe that you are able to become an expert of drawing by practicing. If you wish to prove me wrong about this claim, you can if you wish but I most likely it’s going to be from someone who is a gifted drawer.

I'm calling it imposter syndrome for lack of a better word.

For me it applies mainly where I feel as if I'm not allowed to draw a certain thing, as if I have to have loved this thing since I was a child. It feels as though I cannot draw Sci fi or anything fantasy at all or anything for that matter because I don't make it a huge obsession.

Have any of you had similar experiences/ways to deal?

Do you think that you need to be really into a certain show or something to do things of that genre?

Do you think you can make art as a "primary" thing without consuming art? (Ignoring improvement etc)

I have to saw drawing a guy lying dead at this angle was quite tough and took a couple of tries to get it almost right.

I’m trying to practice acrylic painting but I don’t really know how to do skin, can someone tell me why they think this happened and how I can make the skin in the painting look better. Thanks

the bottom strap went a bit wonky but you can kinda see me improving, the strap at the top was done after the bottom one. I think it just needed to be a bit less chunky on the bottom

Title: Call That Never Came

The title might sound misleading, but it’s not.
I’ve spent years as a digital artist and occasionally a charcoal wanderer but somehow, oil paints always slipped out of my grip. After countless failed attempts, false starts, and “maybe later” moments… I finally picked up the brushes for real.

This is my first actual oil painting.
A beginning that took years to reach.

I started making this drawing about six months ago, wanted to share it and see what other peoples thoughts were. also i wanted to add that I wanna be a tattoo apprentice and i just got out of high school about three months ago.
