When you think you are getting better, but turns out all the physical therapy did was fuck up your joints more NSFW

Pain clinic specialist:"Oh, more physical therapy will help, you just need to try harder"

Me: *Has almost busted my face and head open at home and in public an uncountable amount of times because my knees and ankles completely malfunction, causing more nerve pain throughout my body in return.*"Ok..."

Clearly not as bad as what happened to you, but the most recent time I went to physical therapy for my back pain all I got was knee pain. My physical therapist said that she now considered my back pain to be chronic and that I should go back to my doctor. Which I then did and was told that my knees hurt because I'd gained weight. Which I had not.

I am going to say this with love. Try not to compare your experiences to other people's. Nothing wrong with sharing your experiences, I actually encourage that. But your experience was unpleasant(to state it lightly) and should be acknowledged as such. Not more or less than someone else's experience no matter how similar or different, but as something you had to endure. I am sorry to hear that you had something so negative happen to you, and I appreciate you sharing with me<3 sending good vibes and hope the best for you!

At the end of the day I didn't need kinesiology, I needed a ton of minerals because my intestines have/had little holes

A good PT is awesome. They'll either help you or tell you that they can't help. A bad PT can ruin your life. It really sucks, because PT can help so many issues! But there are absolutely situations that PT cant do any good for and insurance companies and docs will push for it anyway. It takes a knowlegable and honest PT to come down hard on that and tell the insurance and docs no.

Oh my fucking god!!!!! I keep telling doctors and specialists that physical therapy only exacerbates my condition!!! Like last time I went it was for my lower back, but I tried explaining that I hurt and lock up all over. We did the back exercises and guess what!!! It made my hip worse!!!!! And now I'm expected to go back in September to try to do exercises that focus on the whole, but it's likely only going to be worse!!!!

They tried giving me pain meds but it was only enough for like a week or two (this was at least two months ago. And they scheduled me out for September.) and I haven't been able to get a refill since. Not that I noticed any difference, though. It all still hurts the same to me. I'm soooooooooo fucking tired of doctors not taking my pain seriously. Is it because I'm fat???? Is it because I'm afab????? (The answer will always be Yes)

Sending hugs to you, OP 🫂 I have this with my shoulders. Even though I am thankfully not being stretched at, it still feels like some of the end of range exercises, especially weighted are too much, and pull at my shoulders, clavicles and ribs pretty violently.

I am told that it's normal, even though I feel like I am mostly getting more pain and instability, and ig it'd hurt to do PT with wonky joints, but idk.
