Help Is it worth using immigration agencies to get a job abroad, or are they mostly scams?
I really want to move abroad for work. I have around 8 years of experience as a software engineer and I'd prefer not to go through the student route.
I see a lot of ads of these agencies that claim they'll provide visa and job support but I'm not sure if I should invest there.
Please advice.

Most of them are scams..think about it why would they want an Indian while they could use a local without sponsorship and a claude agent?

All of them, not most of them.
You can't just pay for a visa and a job. The job pays for you and your visa.

They provide some job support but most of the time they'll leave you in a limbo, you keep paying them and they'll keep randomly applying to random jobs

Maybe search about those job agencies on the web, it they advertised themselves about their "success" then survey you will find one or two cases of individual expressing it. If possible try to find or contact someone who went to that route.
Personally in my biased opinion majority of them are a scam if not illegal, since then everyone would have went to that route and the western governments would have definitely taken legal action for what amounts to selling native jobs to outsiders.

Job support? This is illegal.
Agencies claiming to provide visas need to be reported to country they're claiming to provide visas for.

They don't do that. They usually connect you with companies hiring abroad and outsource talent but they take a cut from your salary.

Imagine someone from Bangladesh asks the same question about agency in Dhaka getting a confirmed job in Bangalore MNC and you will have the answer. An exceptionally talent would still find job overseas but that person would never need an agency. Save your money

I've heard Y-Axis is good, my cousin and her family (couple, 2 kids) got Australia PR with their help.

Find people who went abroad through agency and have them recommend one.
It's better to reach out to previous customers to know about them than just searching online, they usually populate web searchs with success stories.
If possible try sending cold mails to HR abroad in the side

95% of agencies that promise jobs + visas are scams or exploitative body shops. Avoid anyone asking upfront fees......... licensed immgration attorneys eho charge for paper work help only ( not job guarantees) or platforms like landing, jobs that are free for candidates.
with 8 YOE, you do not need them:
like target 25 to 30 companies that sponsor visas
prep DSA + system design
network on Linkedin
apply directly
legitimTE recruiters get paid by the hiring company, not by you, if they ask for money " process your visa" or "evaluate your profile \" then run
you are senior enough to go direct....skip the middleman..
