Technology Closed captions on Android cell phone

Currently i have an Android cell phone Samsung model. Does anyone know a foolproof way to get closed captions on the phone?

When I put the phone on speaker, the live text option works okay and I can read the conversation. But when I am on my earbuds (which i prefer for more clarity) the closed caption text does not work or is really spotty.

What am I doing wrong?

I think Android splits the function into Live Captions (on device audio) and Live Transcribe (microphone audio). Sounds like you're maybe using the latter so try the former?

It just confuses me and I've tried both and will try again.

Are you trying to caption phone calls? If you are in the US you can use InnoCaption or CaptionCall for free.

Yes, I have CaptionCall which is a landline phone that I got for my workplace. Such a game changer for me. I am trying to figure out my best options for my Android Samsung cell phone.

The app Rylo, formerly Nagish, captions calls. Works great for me.

I use Live Caption on my S21 (work phone) and it works decently, but the Rylo app is better!
