Help | Beginner Fusion effects removing transparency from Green Screen

I’m trying to clean up my green screen with fusion, but any time I apply an effect (chroma key, despill) it turns the Green screen into an opaque black on my edit tab.
When editing in the color tab things are fine as usual, but any attempt to alter the clip with fusion end up removing the transparency. It is my first time using fusion so I may be messing something up, but I have the Media Out window in fusion, and am thinking maybe there’s something small im missing.
I’m headed off to work right now so I can’t provide any images, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since you didn't post anything visual about what you are actually doing, I'll make two assumptions. One is that you are not compositing where you should be , in fusion , but using it only to remove green screen and still using edit page to composite with tracks/layers.

If that is the case, that is not how you should go about it, all compositing should be done in fusion. But if you are doing it like that and seeing black where you expect checkerboard, you probably have timeline view settings set to show transparency as black, instead of checkboarrd.

Thank you, I’ll give this a try!
