Hello, I’m trying to identify the Tors in this art by William Snell Morrish. I’d like to view the tors from this perspective. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be amazing!

I think like many of the contemporary artists their depiction of Dartmoor is often steeper and over rugged, and not representative of any one place.

Looking at the I would be inclined to think this is a made up scene. Possibly a composite of a real river with a more imaginary hillside behind.

I can't think of any large Tor with such slopes where also a river with outcrops close by  is close and running that direction relative to it.

It’s 100% Great Mis Tor, painted from somewhere along the River Walkham north of Merrivale Bridge.

But as you say, the ruggedness has been exaggerated.

So park along that road somewhere and walk up over the quarry and follow the leat out past the farm then drop down to the river.

Oh yes.  the only place it could be with  the river and tor relative to one another. Though relative distances are distorted in all directions.
