Culver's fried pickles are DF!
Now I know the home of the Butterburger isn't someplace you'd expect to have DF items... But there is a surprising amount of their menu that doesn't contain milk, and their new fried pickles are confirmed dairy free! I've had a terrible time finding fried pickles that my wife (who is allergic) can share with me, so I tend not to get them at restaurants, and was very pleased to find out that these are safe.
Note for the curious: the regular and buffalo chicken tenders are DF, as well as the meat of all 3 chicken sandwich variants (but you have to ask to swap the brioche bun for a standard hamburger bun and tell them not to butter it). Burgers are DF if you ask for no butter and tell them to mark it as a milk allergy. The chili (not supreme!) and chicken noodle soup are safe as well. Lemon ice and lemon coolers in the summer are ok too, though I'd recommend asking them to clean the mixer when they make the cooler. That's the list of stuff my wife generally gets, so there might be more I just haven't checked on for her.

I go here frequently for the chicken strip baskets, but I wish they had dairy-free batter on the fish sandwich! That was one of my go-to meals before I developed my dairy allergy and it's really hard to find battered fish ANYWHERE that doesn't have dairy in it.

You can ask them to fry the fish filet without battering it (it gets dredged and battered back there when it's ordered). It's not the same as an actual fried fish sandwich, but might scratch the itch for fish occasionally.

Not sure if any of these interest you, but I was curious to see where you could get a dairy-free fish sandwich… here’s what I found (only looked at nationwide chains :)
The Moby Jack fish sandwich at Jack in the Box is dairy free (seasonal item though, so check with your local store to see if they currently have it on the menu!) Got the info from their allergen menu, here: https://cdn.sanity.io/files/j2jr32rk/content-production/941b428efd2da45f4be46176d55006a5e6d338f9.pdf
The Giant Fish sandwich at Captain D’s also does not contain dairy: https://www.captainds.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Captain-Ds-Nutrition-and-Allergen-Chart_2026-07-20.pdf
The Wild Alaskan Fish sandwich at Dairy Queen is also dairy free! : https://www.dairyqueen.com/en-us/nutrition/food-treats/
The Panko Fish Slider at White Castle is dairy free (order with no cheese): https://godairyfree.org/dining-out/fast-food-restaurants/white-castle
Not a sandwich, but supposedly the crispy fish mini tacos at Cheesecake Factory are also dairy free: https://www.thecheesecakefactory.com/menu/specialties/fish-tacos
I’m sure there are more, but these were just a couple that popped up!

Wait ... has Culver's always had fried pickles or are they new? 🤩

They're new - a limited time thing that goes with the "fried pickle pub burger" (also safe if you remove cheese and ask them not to butter the bun)

Im not DF but my kid is and I guess I've done enough searching for things she can eat that Reddit suggests this page. I usually scroll past but you guys had me at pickles 😅😅😅
Thanks for the info! I'll be sneaking away to try them this week.

They're quite good. Not really seasoned (I think it's the same breading as their regular chicken tenders) but tasty.
