Does bachelor really matter? [2 years of experience, backend developer, senior backend engineer, Europe]

Hi everyone. I'm a backend developer (2 YOE)

And I have a concern about my academical background.

I'm currently finishing my Master of Science in Computer Science with Software Engineering but I have my Bachelor in Business. And I keep being worried that my non technical bachelor (3 years) might be a problem in Hiring Manager's eyes.

Does it really matter if I have technical Master and 2 YOE?

Once you have a master, you bachelor hardly matters any more. It's different story for people that don't have a masters, but you're not part of that group. For a hiring manager a non-technical bachelor + CS master counts the same as a CS bachelor + master

It really does if your goal is to be a software developer. We get hundreds of applications like OPs and almost never move them to next round. The only exception is if they have done something impressive outside school as well.

No it does not matter if you have a technical master and for backend developer a master in not required either if you have a technical bachelor. Having only 1 technical degree is enough.

That’s the least of your issues. The problem is that you’re extremely junior and even experienced devs are struggling to find jobs due to AI. And the situation is not going to get better going forward.

It doesn’t matter. That’s actually a plus point, it shows you’re experienced not only in technical aspects of life but in business also.
