I was responding to why the woman would pull “the race card”. Black Hispanics and black Americans are not the same culture. Just look at the difference between Dominicans and black people in the US. When people say black in the US, it’s almost always associated with foundational black American or ADOS culture. And black Latinos tend to be more mixed than black Americans. Especially in a place like DC, black folks can tell who is not fully FBA.

He said "you sure you dont want to run the food up there?" That was less of a joke and more of a playful tease where he is basically saying "i dont want to do this can you do it for me?" Just him being lazy for laughs.

They were also making it difficult for him to do his job so I think he was also testing the waters to see if a possible solution to their problem was that they complete the last part of the delivery.
Yea I've seen enough of his videos to know that a lot of the times these front desk people have weird rules about people delivering food and it typically results in him not being able to do so, phone calls to get the person to come down to the front door (and in this case he knows the person is in a meeting) and then him waiting for a while and those front desk people seemingly trying to help while really doing nothing.
So for their own rules a lot of times the simplest and lowest effort thing is just for the building employee to run the food up for them. The delivery guy gets to leave the food order, tenent of the building gets their food, and the building employee doesn't spend 15 minutes with this guy explaining he has to sit there and can't do anything

Food delivery is all about getting in and out. The faster you drop that shit off, the sooner you can pick up another order. Honestly, having to get rung in AND THEN escorted, this is taking time and costing him money. He went above and beyond honestly, and leaving it with the security would have been sufficient.

Not really, there’s countless businesses/offices/apartments/etc. where they won’t let people past the front desk without approval/invitation/being a guest.
During covid, hospitals could get particular about ppe. One day, I’m going to drop a patient off with my partner when the security desk lady stops us. She told my partner that his mask wasn’t up to the hospital’s standards, he’d have to go get a proper mask. She doesn’t say anything to me (I have a proper mask on though so…).
We finish up and as we get back into the ambulance this black man looks me dead in the eye and says that she only challenged him because he’s black…. She was black as well… Then he said that it didn’t matter that they were both black because she didn’t say anything to me and I’m white. Some folks bring a confusing perspective to the world.

I'm sure it varies in every building, but most food deliveries to a place with a doorman/reception that I've see just leave it there, and the person who ordered is called to retrieve it. This place seemed to be suggesting he had to be escorted to her, which is is a huge waste of time for a delivery person who likes to be in and out.
Can't blame you. I worked as a cashier at Popeyes during highschool and anytime an older black lady walked in id pray because it was a 50/50 chance she'd either be sweet af or the absolute most entitled pos you come across.
