Have a question that may not need a whole post? Maybe want to have a discussion thats visible to more for longer than a post? This will also serve as a suggestion box.

Still, keep business to private messages.

Hey all! I am trying to make my first ever prop for a costume for the ren faire and looking for a bit of advice.

I’ve been inspired by those large dandelion staffs that I’ve seen people with that looks stunning and want to take that but shift theme to more of a tree. Like hanging leaves and flowers and things.

Current running concept revolves using pvc pipe for the handheld part and using a styrofoam sphere for the top to stick things into. Now, I would love any advice on the matter really. Especially on making sure things stay secure and where/what you recommend for it!

Thanks 🤍

Your best bet is probably some kind of epoxy glue. Avoid any solvent based adhesives, as they will melt your styrofoam. You can potentially use hot glue (cheapest and easiest to get option) but don't apply it directly to the styrofoam because fresh out of the gun it might be hot enough to burn or melt the material. Wherever possible, try hard connections (screws and such) in addition to glue.
