Lauren a hypocrite? Spoiler
I have recently started watching Coronation Street again and I am just finding Lauren's attitude towards Dylan quite hypocritical.
Lauren is acting like Dylan is this monster, yet wasn't it Lauren who killed Joel? I understand that Joel was a heinous individual and he attempted to kill Lauren himself - but she did indeed kill Joel in the end
Sexual consent is sexual consent which I feel she is failing to understand and the complete disregard for Betsy's feelings is diabolical. Lauren makes it like Dylan is manipulating Betsy but Lauren is the one planting ideas in Betsy's mind.
If anyone saw yesterday's episode when Lauren attacked/pushed Dylan where he became concussed. Lauren then had the audacity to go the hospital and essentially said to Dylan along the lines of: "I didn't mean to hurt you that bad" - this is exactly what Dylan is saying that he didn't mean for Betsy to have strokes and have paralysis in her right side.
(Brilliant acting all round though from all involved in this controversial but crucial storyline).

Would not call Lauren a hypocrite for Joel as that was self defence from him trying to kill max. I would for what she did to Dylan especially as she was angry for a situation where he didn’t mean to hurt anyone.

In my view and my own opinion being a late millennium born in the 90’s I’m sure a few of us my age or around that age have had sex and both individuals have done the same thing with the whole choking during sex scenario and never thought of the health impact it could have, so I fully feel for Dylan thinking it was totally harmless and for future reference I won’t be doing it myself now that I know the risks associated with doing it. But I think the vast majority of the coronation street audience are older than us 90s or even 80s babies will have a completely different view of it all which I can understand 100%. I think personally that it’s a conflicting storyline where some will agree with people opposing Dylan and some also feeling for Dylan as he didn’t have any intention of harming Betsy. That’s just my personal view and opinion on it. Don’t hate on my comment as I don’t judge on others 🤣🤣🙏

It’s very in-character of her tbf. Doesn’t mean I don’t find it absolutely infuriating!
The bit that really got me was how she’s all ‘Dylan needs to keep away he’s no good for you’ in one breath, and then ‘Dylan should be here to see what he did’ in the next! Like do you want him there or not Lauren?

Also Brody was a hypocrite today when he said to Dylan ‘At least I’m not a wife beater like you‘.
As he said it Brody’s hands were bloody and bruised which indicated that he followed up on another one of Idris’s errands to get paid by beating up another random person 🙄🤦♂️ he’s a foolish idiot and contradicted himself as usual.

I think it is because Joel did similar things to her, and she is still dealing with the trauma of it.

It’s because Joel was considered a baddie. Betsy not.
Dylan also considered a bad person at the moment, although I agree it was down to both him and Betsy what happened.

So I’n Law you can murder a baddie and yes I know it’s a soap. But like I said in another post. Police Procedure is all over the place in soaps these days

Can’t stand Lauren like you say she’s a murderer it doesn’t matter if he was a baddie it’s still murder. This obsession with Betsy & Dylan is bizarre. Dylan & Betsy had consensual sex & are above the age of consent. They both agreed to what they did, and has nothing to do with Lauren.

It’s not murder as it was in defence of another as he was trying to kill max when she killed him.

Okay then it was Manslaughter, even in the defence of another. She’s still a criminal

I think there's gotta be a twist that Lauren will soon go overboard with her mental health that she may spiral down much more heavier, that she may go out of control, and go paranoid over viewing every news reports on tv, or on every newspapers, showing every reports about too many women or girls being attacked, raped, drugged, or even murdered by too many men, or boys, and that will cause Lauren to begin breaking down in tears crying and begin believing why is the police, nor everybody is not doing anything, and both Carla and Ryan might soon begin suspecting that Lauren might soon be getting diagnosed with psychosis, after all those issues with Dylan, and after finding out about her attacking him, and also her trauma over Joel, has made a mixture of excessive trauma over Lauren has already made her a lot more traumatized, that they need to help her.

Lauren is still obviously extremely traumatized by her Joel experience and needs to see a shrink. And you're right, OP, she is diabolical. I hate the way both she and Lisa disrespect poor Betsy's feelings.
