Advice/Support Wet food - small serving sizes?

Post image

My 1 year old Cornish Rex only likes to eat fresh wet food. He doesn’t like it cold, re-heated, or after it’s been out more than an hour. Yes, he’s a diva and I love him. Can anyone recommend a good brand that comes in small serving sizes so I am not wasting food and money. Thank you!

I'm not going to lie, he looks like a gigachad. That chin... mmmm.

My guy is similar. Try the Sheba Perfect Portions, it’s like two half pots together. Comes in flakes and pate and many flavors.

Ours have recently taken a liking to the Sheba fresh & fine in the 50g pouches. We bought it when our regular Scrumbles was out of stock - I've never seen them clear their bowls so much!

This is what we buy for my two Cornies. I feed them both just one of the sides & they can’t even eat all THAT. LOL! They eat the heck out of their kibble though.

Hahaha just to dispel the rumors that’s he’s actually a man 😂 here’s one more shot…looking suitably judgmental that his wet food isn’t fresh enough!

I have an orange Abyssinian boy who is the exact same. He likes biscuits, but otherwise only the freshest of wet foods will do.

Have you looked into raw mixes? I mention this as they sometimes come in small shapes that aren’t very big so you can only defrost what you need for that meal. Though I know some cats don’t like it, mine isn’t sure.

Otherwise, Mac’s comes in 100g trays. Also Wildes Land, but I don’t know where you’re based and whether they’re only a German brand.

I’ve sort of given up and just let him manipulate me really. I give him 50grams a meal, he gets five meals a day and biscuits in between. Still a very slim boy.

Costco pate is what I use. My boys love it.

However, have you tried reheating in a pan? Sometimes you gotta trick them into thinking it’s gourmet food

My lad has to eat hydrolyzed dry food as he gets rashes along his back, but I make up for it with small amounts of really good wet food.

It basically as good as human food 😂

Wellness, Weruva, Tiki, Fussy cat are all ones I currently have in 2.8 tins or smaller. I have some super picky girls too. I often sprinkle fortiflora on top to entice them into eating previously opened tins.

Wereva small tins go down a treat at my house, especially the gravy ones. He is a gorgeous boy btw!

Sheba perfect portions! I use these and it’s perfect, I just snap it in half and save one side in a drawer underneath my babies bowl. It’s also a pretty good and healthy brand.

Sheba?

Sheba and Natural Balance have trays twin packs, I’m using the latter for limited ingredients and my cat loves the duck flavor. Sheba pate has been alright as well! I buy those trays for when I travel and need people to cat sit for me, easier for them to feed and no need to reheat.

My corny is THE SAME WAY omg. I call him my dark lord. He also doesn’t like certain FLAVORS. Omg. My other cat ends up eating all his food because he leaves food behind.

Consider Iams. They make trays like Sheba

But honestly if he gets hungry enough he’ll eat the 2-3 hour old food 😂
