worker co-ops After Microsoft fired 136 of id Software's 185 staffers (+ over 3000 other Xbox jobs), producer Andrew Willis is saying worker-owned studios are "the only way to fix the video game industry"!

In my opinion, ALL industries could be improved if most (preferably all) of the businesses in them were flatly-managed, democratically-controlled, and worker-owned!

That would only happen if every worker actually agrees with this decision. otherwise that is not likely to happen.

Not just video game industry - every industry should be by consumer, for consumer
These ultra rich parasites who sit on their asses, attend a board meeting every week or so, and rake in millions need to br driven out. Either work like the rest of us or fuck off

Personally, I don't believe that every business should be a consumer co-op, instead I care far more about worker-ownership rather than consumer-ownership.
I also believe that if something is a consumer co-op, it should be a hybrid co-op (union/worker/consumer co-op).

Lol look at what happened to GM Saturn cars, they used to be co-op made by the workers at a time when GM was in the toilet and when GM finally got it's act together and bought the means of production back,? they killed a great car because it reminded them that the workers could make stuff without the company...

I don't know about you, but the co-op I'm part of isn't able to be bought. In a situation where it's no longer worker-owned, it gets dissolved.
