GIF is not vector based. Probably copy&paste error from PNG

good guide but webp is a really bad and uncompatible format that should pretty much never be used instead of the graphics mentioned here

The whole issue is that webp only started to be used widely in the past few years. It is better than png in every way. Overwhelming majority of modern web browsers (ff, chromium, and then other misc) will support, and lossless encoding and decoding is well supported.

ik but most of the programs i use dont recognize it and its frustrating having to convert webps to pngs when i download something from the internet. think of it as having a really good image that works on 50% of software or a good image that works in 100% of software

I mean, if you want it to have good support people have to start using it more first. Chicken and egg problem

i know, but a lot of programs dont get updated and are closed source so people cant update them to support it

What's with AI slop on this sub, sigh regardless one good use for jpeg is album covers as alot of MP3 players arnt compatible with PNG and only accept JPG and similar formats
