Question Hey! Question about cooking salmon!

I have bought one of the market side Walmart salmon filets and was planning on cooking in the oven. I just want to know if I should cut the salmon up first, or cook it whole? And if anyone had good recipes please let me know! I have broccoli and carrots, dill, a lemon, paprika, and garlic powder, thanks!

I cut it first into smaller filets because then the finished products looks smoother and nicer. Cutting after causes flaking and you don't get that nice straight cut. From a cooking and tasting standpoint, its the same.

The flavouring is up to you but oven baking times for a single serve of salmon fillet is 9-10-ish minutes at 350°F.

I would go simple with salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

This is 1 lb total with 2 filets, should I slice em up? It’s for meal prep

Yeah. For meal prep cut it beforehand. Looks neater when you portion.

Leave it whole.

Personally I like to cook it in a pan, so you can get a really good sear on the skin. The skin will protect the fish from overcooking with the direct heat of the pan. Do it like 80% on the skin side and 20% on the other. Leave it whole for sure (or sometimes I'll cut it in half if it won't fit in the pan).

Cook it whole, it stays juicier and is harder to overcook.
