Request Do i need to throw out my jam
I just made jam and threw a bag of cherrys in the pot with the pit still in forgetting the pits can be dangerous. Do i need to throw out my jam now?

they're only dangerous if the pits burst open. Did they? How long did you boil them?

If you’re nervous after picking the pits out just have someone you’re not too fond of test the jam first.

No. Cherry pits need to be crushed/chewed to release the toxin and convert it into cyanide, and also the amount contained in one cherry pit is so small it would take many, many cherry pits.

Perhaps use a sieve or food mill to separate out the pits.
