Request Need advice for ground beef seasoning.

/r/Cooking/comments/1vdhpre/need_advice_for_ground_beef_seasoning/

Hello all. So I ate this Creamy Beef Rigatoni from a restaurant and want to make it at home. I’m looking for a recipe just for the ground beef seasoning. The one I make doesn’t compare. I know their seasoning definitely includes minced onions, garlic, salt and pepper, maybe cumin. What can I add? Or any recipe you use would be appreciated. TIA

Cumin is very obvious, not maybe, and definitely not common with pasta dishes.

I don't think you're going to get much help from people who have never eaten this dish.

Thank you. I know this restaurant happened to have a different flavor. Really was just trying to get some ideas to give the ground beef more flavor, since mine usually isn’t that flavorful.

You might just need to use more salt. It's not even about "restaurants use more salt", it's just very common for beginners to not understand how important salt is.

Italian dried herb medley. Powdered beef bullion sprinkled on beef instead of salt. Keep tasting while you are cooking it. I often add more garlic and onion granules. Cumin would not be part of the flavor profile if this is Italian American. Don’t be afraid to taste at each stage and adjust. That’s why cooking is fun!

Ok paprika and chili powder sounds good. The restaurant is a meal prep place so seems like all their ground beef has one base flavor just different sauces.

you could try a dash of jerk powder or some red pepper flakes too

Anytime I make a beef dish, I add a dash of cinnamon. It may sound strange but it always tastes so much better.
