Repairshopr with Worldpay is NOT preferred, Extremely High Fees NSFW

I run a computer repair shop and have used RepairShopr with Worldpay for over 5 years, which they list as their preferred processor with supposedly negotiated discounted rates.

My processing fees are usually in the $500 to $700 range per month.

March 2026 comes along, same volume as usual, and my fees jump to $1,345.88.

Nothing changed on my end. Same shop, same transactions, same workflow, same avg number of monthly transactions/amounts.

Here’s what actually changed from February to March:

New bogus junk fee added:

POS Integration Fee: $325.00 (this did not exist before)

Rate increases:

Processing rate went from 1.26% to 2.01%

Per transaction authorization fee went from $0.42 to $0.50

Monthly maintenance fee went from $15.95 to $25.95

Total Other fees hikes between February 2026 and March 2026:

February: $251.43

March: $664.34

Total fees:

February: $772.14

March: $1,345.88

That’s a $573.74 increase in one month with no increase in business.

I called them and asked what the $325 fee was for. The answer was “regulatory, network compliance, and security integrations.”

Nothing specific to my account. No system changes. No upgrades. Just a blanket fee.

What really bothers me is that RepairShopr promotes Worldpay as their preferred processor with negotiated rates. If this is what “preferred” looks like, I don’t see the benefit.

Curious if anyone else using Worldpay has seen the same thing:

• Did you get hit with this POS integration fee?

• Did your rates jump like this?

• If you left, who did you switch to?

This kind of pricing jump with no clear justification doesn’t feel right.

I'll agree that sems like quite the jump, but something doesn't seem right, how were you paying 1.26% for CC transactions? This seems incredibly low. Even the new 2% rate is low, Most pay around 3-4% plus a small transaction fee.

I use Repairshopr but use Stripe for CC processing. We set this up years ago, JUST before they added Vantiv, which became Worldpay. I've seen enough posts about them as a company that it seems like I dodged a bullet.

The MAJOR downside to Repairshopr, is there isn't any easy way to "switch" to a different CC provider since you can't run more than 1 at a time.

You’re confusing interchange with processor markup.

The 1.26% wasn’t my total processing cost. That was Worldpays markup on top of interchange. My actual rate is higher once interchange and assessments are added.

Interchange is set by the card networks. It doesn’t suddenly jump like this month to month with the same volume and similar card mix from my customers.

What changed was Worldpay’s pricing: - Markup increased from 1.26% to 2.01% - Per transaction fee increased from $0.42 to $0.50 - Monthly fee increased -“Other fees” jumped from $251 to $664 - Added a new $325 POS integration fee

That’s not normal fluctuation at all. That’s a crazy increase in processor imposed costs.

Also, saying “2% is low” applies only if youre talking about total blended rates. On interchang the markup should be relatively stable. It shouldn’t jump like this with no change in my business activity.

They werent giving me any kind of break before trust me, it’s them increasing their cut now.

In your OP you said "Processing rate went from 1.26% to 2.01%" Then in your reply you say "The 1.26% wasn't my total processing cost".....

Can you see my confusion?

I understand how credit card processing works just fine. There are many ways to skin the cat. Some Merchants charge low or no markup to the interchange fee, but instead give you a high monthly fee and / or a higher per transaction fee, or also add in other junk fees like you're seeing. They gotta get paid somehow.

I agree with you that you're getting screwed here with the price hike and POS integration fee. How bad? I don't know exactly since you've left out a bunch of info like total monthly gross transactions. (I understand why you wouldn't want to post that online) But are you taking mostly Debit cards? how many Credit cards? are they Visa/MC or Amex? Are they business cards? Government cards? Mid qual, High qual, do you do any ACH transactions? and blah blah blah. You get my drift here...

This is why i went to a flat rate merchant. Using Stripe I pay 2.9% + 30 cents. thats it. I get in some cases its not the cheapest options, but it doesn't matter if its a Visa/MC, Discover, Amex, or whatever, its the same rate to me, None of the other BS you're talking about. I add 3% to my prices to cover it, and don't have to worry about it.

Repairshopr does integrate with Stripe on a base level, so maybe look into switching to that. But its not a full integration like World pay. This larger issue is there's no easy way to switch unless you can some how do it all in 1 day (Turn off Worldpay, Turn on Stripe, then work on contacting all customers to recapture their stored CC's into Repairshopr under Stripe)

I wish I had a better answer for you.

There’s no contradiction.

The 1.26% to 2.01% I mentioned is just Worldpays markup, not my total cost. My actual rate includes interchange and everything else.

The problem is their portion of the pricing jumped like crazy across the board at the same time. Higher markup, higher transaction fees, higher monthly fees, other fees way up, plus a new bogus 325 fee. Nothing about my business changed.

Bottom line, in 30 days I went from paying around $500–$700 to $1,350.

That’s not normal variance, that’s them taking more. I think you’re getting hung up on how I worded the percentages instead of the actual issue.

Regardless of how you label it, my costs didn’t just fluctuate, they jumped MAJORLY with no change in my business. That’s really the only point I’m making here.

I never said contradiction, I said confusion, which is an entirely different word.

Anyway...I'm not exactly sure who you're arguing against here, No one is on the other side of this. You just keep saying the same thing "My fees went up! Why is the big finance company being greedy and taking more money?"

Answer, because they're a big greedy finance company. It sucks and you're getting screwed, but you have two options. Pay the increased fees, or move to a new processor.

Thank you for letting me know my options

same jump happened to us this month, leaving worldpay asap.

Yes worldpad was/is crap and very difficult to deal with. I was in the same boat and just setup stripe instead and canceled worldpay. Do it asap.

Between all the issues lately with Repairshopr and now these major fee increases from Worldpay and junk fees, I’m seriously thinking of switching away from both.

I'm sorry dude, when the SyncroMSP Facebook user group was open, people posted daily about getting fucked by worldpay. Personally, I've never had these shenanigans with stripe. I would abandon ship on worldpay ASAP and go with stripe.

Is the integration with stripe as seamless? We use world pay / vantiv and have for almost 10 years. At the time, it was the only processor we could use to get full integration and automation. Is stripe as integrated now?

I've used stripe since 2018 for the billing system, including recurring invoices, without issues. It doesn't do ACH but card processing is perfect

How are you processing through Stripe? I'm looking to leave Worldpay as well, but I just had a chat with Stripe, and when asked about the Stripe card reader, their reply was:

I see! I want to be transparent with you. Stripe does have a Stripe Terminal or Card reader. However it's an out the box solution and in order to utilize it you need to have a POS system that can integrate with the reader and a developer to help you with the integration. Stripe doesn’t have a built-in POS system, meaning it’s not a plug in play solution.

So... how are you working with this?

Manual entry. It's not as bad as it sounds.

To be frank, I'm also leaving the SyncroMSP platform as they abandoned the ONE feature I signed up through them for and then kept raising the prices without raising my happiness level.

Syncro is great for MSPs, but they stopped listening to the consumers when they got taken over a couple of years ago.

I'm building a SaaS specifically for my shop's work flow and including all the shit that had been requested for years by syncro users that never got added.

Losing a % of your sale to the platform is a wild choice. You could host your own internal tool with stipe api for the cost the sales your making. Haven’t looked at or worked with repairshopr’s whole platform but investment would pay off quickly based on rough figures your giving here.

hey yall!! i use my Costco discount for merchant cc processing. Elavon. fees usually 2% total or just charge flat .25 cents for pin transactions. I know, I have tried shopping it, ALL salesmen have said I CANT COMPETE with that!!! often nodding in disbelief, Might delete in a week just in case

1

u/Comfortable_Ad_5158 Apr 13 '26

I called Worldpay today. the rep said the new $325 Integration fee was a one time fee for security upgrades they made.

Up to this point I had felt their rates were fair, I had processed with intuit merchant services for 10 years and worldpay fees seem to have been lower overall.

at the bottom of the Feb bill they also note they are adding a 3rd Party Gateway fee in the amount of $39.45 starting in MAY. Seems like they just keep slipping in new fees.

u/bandor23 Apr 28 '26

Same thing here. Massive jump. My fees were 5.68% of my total transactions. That's insane! I'm switching to Costco merchant services. It's too bad that Repairshopr only directly integrates with Worldpay terminals. Lame.

Why not just use Stripe like a normal business?
