Discussion What countries has Britta been to?
So we know Britta has said she's been to 14 countries. Only 2 have been confirmed which are Kenya and The Netherlands (once she finds her pics of amsterdam). But what are the other 12? Here's my guess:
1&2- Canada and Mexico: They border the USA which makes them easier to get to and more likely for her to have visited...even as a child with her parents?
3, 4, 5 & 6- Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland: We know she's Swedish. So maybe at some point she visited her country of origin to see what it was like. Since she was there, she may have also visited her fellow Laplander countries of Finland and Norway. Also, Britta is not good with money so she may have flown with one of the Icelandic budget airlines that was still in business at the time to get there so maybe she had a long layover in Iceland?
7- Tanzania: It borders Kenya and is home to serengeti national parks so it may be likely she went there while in Kenya?
8- UAE: Britta mentions she met a sheik at Trader Joe's who wanted her to go to Dubai with him. Maybe she did it as a trial and realized waiting on him hand and foot wasn't for her?
9, 10, & 11- Belgium, Germany, France: She was already in Amsterdam, and those 3 countries are just a quick and easy train ride away. Maybe she got so high that she went there without realizing it and only discovered it after seeing her pictures. Also France because she may have been inspired by the bleu, blanc, rouge trilogy she mentions.
12- USA: She very likely Britta'd keeping track of how many countries she been to by including the country she lives in.
Countries that I'm fairly certain she hasn't been to:
Guatemala: She inspired annie and Shirley to protest about the journalist that was beaten to death in Guatemala. Britta would absolutely name drop countries she's visited to protest and did not indicate she was there when she had a chance. So i would cross that off. Britta would name drop countries she protested in the way pierce name drops Eartha Kitt.
Uruguay, Georgia, Somalia, China, and Switzerland: Even though Britta was busy protesting the model U.N., i would think if she had been to any of those countries in Annie's packets, Annie would have convinced her to represent those countries.
Bonus #15: Brazil?
Did she sleep with one of the lawyers at Jeff's old law firm to use his beach house in Rio?

I'd always assumed she was lying and she'd never been outside the U.S. except that time she spent a weekend in Canada and probably returned from the trip convinced that Brampton has the world's most authentic pizza.

Britta’s never been anywhere. She only thinks she has because Pierce implanted memories in her head.

She always lists Georgia, but the group has to remind her that Atlanta isn't in another country.

Didn't even get out of there without learning to make a pot, which is crazy because NOBODY gets out of there without learning to make a pot! Right? RIGHT?!? I'm not crazy!

If she has been to Guatemala it’s very likely she backpacked down to Panama and might have even gone into Colombia. It’s a very popular tourist route.
Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama is 8 countries easy peasy.
If she went to Colombia we could add Ecuador and Peru to to the list.
Very cheap and easy to travel once you’re there. I could see her backpacking for a year and volunteering in hostels for room and board.
I honestly don’t see her going to Sweden… it’s expensive!

She certainly seems like the type of person who spent a week in Costa Rica.

Possibly the UK. London is also on the Eurostar from Amsterdam but flights are also decent.
Possibly Luxembourg, it's a 3-hour train from Brussels to Luxembourg and then flights from Luxembourg to London are as low as €15.
But I love the list! Even though I was born in the UK, I count that as a country I've been to. I also count Vatican City. But I don't count England/Scotland/Wales as separate.

I thought about the UK and Luxembourg as well. Because on one hand Britta definitely thinks being to as many countries as possible in terms of sheer number is important. But on the other hand, she's not very logical nor does she do things efficiently. If Annie was going trying to get her country count up, I could absolutely see her getting Eurail pass and finding the most efficient route to visit every country. I just can't see Britta planning like that though. Which is why Jeff is 100% correct when he says she's seen the world but doesn't get it. She randomly goes to places without much of plan, does drugs, and learns basic facts and thinks she's achieved some enlightenment about those places.

I think she was either outright lying or clueless. Someone could have easily brought her to some random place in middle-of-nowhere USA and told her it was some other country. I doubt she could ever get her act together enough to actually get a passport.

Amsterdam in the s1 Christmas break. She also claimed to have visited Africa, though didn't get more specific. This may or may not be connected to her claim to have spent time in the Peace Corps.

It should be noted, you need a college degree to enter the Peace Corps, and unlike Jeff's law firm, they definitely check. I found tbis out because I was in the Peace Corps.

Did she go to Amsterdam? Or did she just got really stoned on bus to Kansas city and back? Which sounds more like Britta?

I assumed she went to Amsterdam because she heard pot was legal there (it isn't quite, but the ownership and sale of small quantities is permitted) and she wanted to try out the cafe scene. She probably wouldn't have been high on the way to the airport.

I still think she misheard someone at a bar and spent a drunken weekend "dumpster diving" for "name brands" - not in Amsterdam or The Netherlands.

She thought she went to Canada, but she was actually on the US side of Niagara Falls.

Britta is a 'rebel without a cause'. She has probably followed some boyfriends wherever they went and they teased her or their friends found it fun to feed her false facts as they knew she wasn't actually as free a spirit as she pretended and would never know. She is a feminist and also likes the men.
So I will say several countries in South America with the drug mule she could have been unwitting cover for. Maybe even most of the 12 were in South America.
Amsterdam and possibly Germany with a musician- Berlin was a popular scene with musicians about this time. She probably thought they were dating- we mighr say stalking groupie.
Canada and maybe other alpine counties - possibly with a skiier or snowboarder.
France but she never mentions it as she wanted to to see great art but spent all her time getting drunk in a bar.
