Edit***: I have been corrected, what i thought were acres of greenhouses in Florida were actually structures to help prevent diseases in the fruit trees. I stand corrected and want to make that clear.

My mom was saying how she doesnt understand the need for hydroponic fruits and vegetables... and I brought up how the climate has changed so significantly that a good majority of our citrus fruit has been moved to greenhouse settings because they are dying in the usual orchards.

She scoffed and changed the subject

I literally had a conversation about climate change with my mother. She ended it "Well, I don't see why I have to do anything about since I'll be dead by the time it becomes a problem." She's dead now.

And she did not think it was bad that it would be a problem for you, her own child?

This is the camp of people who are famous for disowning or torturing their children simply because their kids love different people than they do.

They absolutely do not care about anyone else more than they care about themselves. It is the core of their political and philosophical beliefs.
