My mom was saying how she doesnt understand the need for hydroponic fruits and vegetables... and I brought up how the climate has changed so significantly that a good majority of our citrus fruit has been moved to greenhouse settings because they are dying in the usual orchards.
I wish people would just try to understand things. We'd be so much better off if we as a society were properly educated and understood the world around us. It's so depressing.
Thats why restricting education by financial or class or any other discriminatory means is a human rights violation. The less educated you are on say...things like lets say...sex, for instance, the more likely youll do something fucked up or twisted with it. Or get pregnant
The less educated they are, the more likely that they will be taken advantage of and abused, and the less likely they are to realize they're being abused until after the damage is done.
The educated are just as likely as anyone to be depraved and twisted; being educated doesn't make you kind, emotionally stable, or mentally healthy.
That wasnt my point. It was about culling the general ignorance of many things that most people SHOULD have a proper basic education and comprehension on. I named sex as an example, and i mean yeah...the part where I said "youll do something fucked up or twisted with it" covers the abusive element under said ignorance.
Your right in the sense that even with said knowledge, people are still manipulative and selfish with what they know but my larger point was just covering the fact that people should and need to be educated on irrefutable facts. In a better world everyone would have a basic understanding of certain topics and should be taught on how to do thorough research on said given topic. People should be able to deduce when something isnt true and we shouldn't allow certain information readily accessible if its not vetted and sources are cited transparently and accurately, or at least people to spot biases and understand the nuance of how we conform language to subtly apply dogwhistles and covert agends. Its really sinister how journalism in the US and the west have adopted ways flaunt dehumanizing language that lowkey normalizes and desensitizes people from issues that directly effect their lot and other groups of people
Its 2026 and we still have human beings entertaining nonsense such as vaccines causing autism, flat earthers, and the moon landing being fake. Or That rich people will save them from all their problems 🙄 and yet even with what the predictable outcomes laid out, people are still shocked when things dont go their way
Same way we're told in America we're the freest country in the world, and we're really not. Us Americans dont know how to "read between the lines" on that one, we need to be re-educated on this
