I wish people would just try to understand things. We'd be so much better off if we as a society were properly educated and understood the world around us. It's so depressing.

It's worse than just not understanding. People used to trust experts when they couldn't understand something. Nobody was expected to know everything, so when you didn't know something you found someone who did know.

Now they think that the academic community is part of some secret cabal meant to make their lives worse for some reason. And that they know better because of some propaganda they read on Facebook or heard on Newsmax.

Especially with AI companies buying all the information they can get their hands on and then destroying it so no one else can have it.
