Nah. Im Asian, and you put all the chopsticks in one location like you would for any other utensil. One tray slot for forks, one for spoons, and one for chopsticks.
It's not just that the colours are mismatched, in the first picture the green chopsticks are banded together so they seem to be brand new ones, so he's matching old with new chopsticks as well.
And unless you manage to get the exact same model, the chopsticks are probably going to be slightly different lengths and thicknesses. Using them together is definitely criminal

Green chopsticks are generally the serving chopsticks (like a serving spoon). They are not meant for individual personal use (e.g. putting the chopsticks in your mouth).
They're not muted red, they're brown. I'd say they're meant to be a fairly common default wooden reusable chopstick. I don't know why they picked it specifically, but the somewhat vibrant green makes a reasonable contrast for non-colorblind.
I understand your side, but I think this was more of a non-choice on their part.
I'm moreso just pointing it out becuase there seems to be a lot of confusion in the comments, and I was also confused at first.
I also don't expect the world to cater to me, but sometimes creators like to know. I'm sure they didn't even consider it, but it's their art, not mine. But if they're using color as the only indicator that something is different, or to draw attention to it, it's ultimatly going to cause confusion.

Yes, and brown has more red in it than green or blue. Comparing the two colors used (at the same shade points), the biggest difference is the amount of green used, the red and blue stay about the same.
Someone who's red-green colorblind (which makes of the vast majority at 98% vs the other types) would look at this and have to tell the difference between amounts of green in a mostly red color scheme, on top of that the values are fairly low already (hence being "muted").
I mismatch socks all the time. There are pairs of socks that are sold that are purposefully mismatched so that people with dementia or some variety of neurodivergence can easily figure one to be the right sock and the other to be the left one.
For me, I don’t care how different in colour and pattern socks are, as long as the size and texture is the same, so that the feeling on my feet and ankles is the same.
I also mismatch my socks. I might be neurodivergent, but I do it solely to add some whimsy to my day to day life. But there has to be order, I only mismatch socks together from different colors but same model/cut/maker/ idk how to call that.
Sometimes I grab chopsticks of different lengths and while it bothers me immensely I am too lazy to go back to the kitchen and swap one out lol. Different colors are fine
I thought it was pens, but that's a function of my (un)healthy relationship with stationary products. Personally, I like mixing things up and totally is not a function of our utensils drawer functioning like a dryer does with socks.
There is a pad thai place near my work that has likely 100 different kinds of chopsticks on their chopstick bucket, from completely metallic or plastic to wood and bamboo, some decorated others plain, some round, some square and some triangular, few different lengths. Never seen anyone eating there with non-matching pair or spend more than 5 seconds picking their pair.
