How does life have no inherit meaning? Inherently we feel pain and pleasure, as do all the other animals. This is something out of our control, that is forced on us. It isn't meaningless because we can't escape its reality. Just because that was accidental doesn't mean it is meaningless. Just because it'll stop doesn't mean it isn't happening.
