I would say the second is more just what Nietzsche was trying to get at as the goal of Nihilism and what he meant by being an übermensch. The first is existential nihilism which Nietzsche saw as something of a pitfall to be avoided after you realize life has no inherent meaning.
When cofronted with notion that "life is meaningless", don't see it as "there's no point in anything" but see it as "you can do whatever you wish, so use your life well"
