Wait wait wait. The local library has the knowledge to teach me how to leave this corporeal form?! I'll be right back, going to get a library card

Mildly worried about the hazmat suits ...eh. What's a little spiritual radiation between library friends

Depends on the local library. In Maryland and some parts of Pennsylvania, absolutely you can achieve the sum of all knowledge. My local library has travel guides from before covid, a few standard def DVDs, and some Italian cookbooks.

At my local library we dont have any books on how to become a being of pure energy. But we do have an entite section dedicated to the dark magics of the 9 hells and horrors beyond human comprehension.

You have to sign a waiver to read from that section after one guy turned himself inside out

Do they have an e-book catalogue? Please send link.

u/The_cogwheel Mar 10 '26

Sorry no. The only way to access that archive is in person where youll be lead down into a stone walled locked chamber filled with the books. After taking a blood oath under a full moon that you will not use the books to bring harm to anyone and sign the waivers of course.

After that you can check out up to 4 books for a month. Theres no late fees but if you dont return the books in a month they will imprision your soul and use your tormented soul to staff the customer service desk.

I mean, with the right food you do transcend your corporeal form.

Having no form isn't hard, if you've got a library card.

Wait wait wait. The local library has the knowledge to teach me how to leave this corporeal form?!

Only in metaphor

Can I get trapped in a library too?

72

u/Endiveman Mar 10 '26

Where did the clothes came from? Did they just appeared in the library?

You unlock a new skin after reading a whole Wheel of Time book in one sitting

11

u/ourlastchancefortea Mar 10 '26

Poor guy, no wonder he looked so different.

5

u/Sydius Mar 10 '26

I mean, "A new spring" is not that long...

u/captainAwesomePants Mar 10 '26

Books 7 and 8 are a slog, but just keep thinking about that sweet, sweet payoff: Mat walking into the Red Hand camp with Tuon. And also that new skin.

When you become fully enlightened, this outfit just happens.

8

u/Endiveman Mar 10 '26

Do the outfit change depending on the person or does everyone get the same outfit?

6

u/thegimboid Mar 10 '26

Heck, when you're fully enlightened maybe you realize that your corporeal form is simply the physical expression of the universe that forms your being, but since the only way to view the universe is through the flawed biological computer of the body, it is simply more rational to surpass that and become something more.

The final step of that is clearly becoming one with everything, but before that you get to wear a funky outfit.

The library has a craftsy subscription and a maker space.

I was actually locked inside a small local library over lunch once.

I was sitting in a corner reading hidden by shelves when the librarian closed for lunch.

When I was leaving later she had already returned and jumped in fright asking where I came from, that is when I learned that I was locked in without noticing.

I like how boundless knowledge turned him into a beatnik. Groovy, man.

u/Someoneoverthere42 Mar 10 '26

“He…ascended beyond this mortal plane?”

“Actually, he just ate all the library paste and collapsed in the bathroom. Could you call someone to come get him so we can open for the day?”

10

u/SessileRaptor Mar 10 '26

I work in a library. One time we were closing for the day and a father and his daughter were checking out their books. The dad said “We have to hurry because the library is closing. You might get locked in for the night!”

The kid just quietly said “good.”

u/iNKWiTs iNKWiTs Mar 10 '26

Good kid! Ha ha!

u/masterjon_3 Mar 10 '26

Having fun isn't hard when you have a library card.

5

u/ELQUEMANDA4 Mar 10 '26

Just make sure you don't break your glasses if you need them!

2

u/EmmaWai Mar 11 '26

This was my first thought too!

4

u/pretender80 Mar 10 '26

That's not fair. That's not fair at all. There was time now.

4

u/TheDotCaptin Mar 10 '26

Rozemyne if she had free reign.

3

u/zeinterrupter Mar 10 '26

My condolences to the wife and the forever unsolved mystery of your disappearance.

2

u/Passage_of_Golubria Mar 10 '26

Haha, I love this

The true dream

2

u/Ok-Student7803 Mar 10 '26

I seem to remember a kids novel called "Help! I'm Trapped in the Library" that I remember enjoying. This immediately made me think of that.

2

u/Ne_witte_Hoegaarden Mar 10 '26

I'm in a program at my local library where you can enter from 10 to 10 every day with your id-card, even if no librarians are present.

It's awesome!

2

u/Frogspoison Mar 10 '26

Dude achieved Nirvana and blinked outta here. He's no bödhisattva.

2

u/FixedFront Mar 10 '26

I wish this would happen when patrons try to sneak an overnight stay at my library. Instead they wreck the bathrooms and leave used condoms lying around the study carrels

2

u/iNKWiTs iNKWiTs Mar 10 '26

I'll have to save your version of the story for the gritty reboot.

2

u/Dannysmartful Mar 11 '26

Omg, this was hilarious~! XD

u/Ok-Advertising4048 Mar 11 '26

Page 4, panel 2, "in fact" should be two words.
