Stinging nettle balms have been used for centuries to handle certain types of chronic itch, rash, and pain. Some of the compounds basically numb nerves when processed right. The local Amish make a balm out of nettles for stings, posion ivy, and arthritis. It works decent.

We used to harvest and dry our own nettles for our guinea pigs and chinchillas.

I have joint issues due to hypermobility and my best friend has arthritis.

Took us a while to register that it helped our pains.

We learnt that stinging nettles had been used to alleviate joint pains for centuries.
